A summit should never begin with a program of activities. It should begin with a question: ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐๐น๐ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐?
In preparation for the upcoming LUFPTA Summit 2026, a coordination meeting was convened yesterday, August 28, 2026, with the members of the La Union Federated Parent-Teachersโ Association (LUFPTA), bringing to the table the people who see education not only from the classroom but from the home, the community, and the everyday realities of raising and teaching a child.
The discussion became an opportunity to confront the concerns that continue to shape our educational landscape. What challenges are our learners facing? What struggles are being felt by parents and teachers? What gaps continue to hinder meaningful learning? And, more importantly, what can we do about them?
From these conversations emerged issues that deserve more than passing attention. The members identified pressing concerns within the education sector and explored possible summit topics that could provide spaces for discussion, reflection, and, ultimately, solutions.
As the summit takes shape, the aim is to create a space where parents and teachers can speak, listen, challenge existing perspectives, and collectively imagine better possibilities for every learner. Because education cannot be shaped by institutions alone. It is shaped when those who care enough to raise, teach, guide, and advocate for the next generation are given a seat at the table.
