CIDG SEIZES β±5M UNREGISTERED COSMETIC PRODUCTS IN BULACAN
On September 7, 2026 at around 3:50 PM, the CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit, together with representative from Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) and San Jose Del Monte City Police Station conducted a law enforcement operation for violations of Republic Act No. 3720 (Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act), as amended by Republic Act No. 9711 (Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009) in Brgy. Tungkong Mangga, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan that resulted in the arrest of female suspect, and the confiscation of 78 boxes of unregistered cosmetic products and beauty creams, with an estimated value of P5,000,000.00.
In a report submitted to PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, the Director of CIDG, it stated that the female suspect- owner of the seized products was caught while in possession and control, storing, and selling cosmetic products that are not duly registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Director of CIDG emphasized that according to Republic Act No. 9711, otherwise known as the βFood and Drug Administration Act of 2009β, the State protects and promotes the right to health of the Filipino people; and enhances its regulatory capacity, strengthens its capability with regard to the inspection, licensing and monitoring of establishments, and the registration and monitoring of health products. Under the law, the manufacture, importation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer of health, food products and consumer products without the required authorization from the authorities is prohibited.
Buying and using unregistered beauty creams poses risks to health because these products bypass regulatory oversight, meaning their safety, quality, and ingredients cannot be guaranteed.
The CIDG leadership lauds PCOL Grant A Gollod, the Regional Chief of CIDG Regional Field Unit 3, and CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit under PMAJ Domingo A Resma Jr. for busting the trading of substandard cosmetic/beauty products.
This underscores the Unitβs commitment in protecting the consumers, by implementing the laws and arresting the violators .
The CIDG assures the public that the Group is steadfast in its fight against all illegal activities across the country.
The CIDG and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) urges the public to exercise caution, practice discernment, and always verify a product's registration before buying cosmetics.
Moreover, the public is advised to always check if a cosmetic product is notified with the FDA through its website (ww2.fda.gov.ph). It has a Search feature which may be used by typing in the name of the product before deciding on purchasing and/or using the said product.
