Prior to her appointment, Sorio served as Tribal Affairs Assistant II while concurrently performing the functions of AO IV.

A proud ๐ผ๐‘ก๐‘›๐‘’๐‘” from the indigenous cultural town of Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur, Sorio's appointment marks a significant milestone in her public service career and reflects her years of dedication and commitment to ICCs/IPs.

Throughout her tenure as AO IV, she played a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of administrative and support services, contributing to the effective implementation of NCIP programs and activities in the province.

With her formal assumption to the position, Sorio is expected to continue strengthening the administrative operations of the office in support of NCIP's mandate and programs.

The activity benefited learners of Delles Integrated School, where a total of 71 bags containing school supplies were distributed to students. The donated school items aim to support the educational needs of Indigenous Peoples (IP) learners and encourage their continued participation in school.

The event was attended by Municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) W***y P. Canuto, who warmly welcomed and graciously accommodated the participating agencies and guests. Also present was Sanggunian Bayan Member Dante S. Cabinto, who expressed his gratitude to NCIP-RO1 and the Department of Health for bringing essential services directly to the community.

As part of the DOHโ€™s PuroKalusugan initiative, medical and dental services were provided to community members. Complementing these efforts, NCIP-RO1 delivered various frontline services under its โ€œ๐€๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐›๐ข๐ฌ๐ฒ๐จ ๐ฌ๐š ๐๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐š๐ง๐  ๐Š๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐›๐จโ€ initiative. These also included dental check-ups and tooth extraction services, processing of applications for Certificate of Confirmation (COC), and acceptance and processing of applications for the Educational Assistance Program (EAP).

The awarding ceremony was led by Mr. Samuel S. Suarez of Hominum Management Consultancy Services (HMCS) together with Ms. Chatty Anne Decena and Ms. Phoebe Kalalang of OPPR and other Central Office personnel who facilitated the workshop sessions.

An initial office inspection also followed after the activity as part of the continuing preparations of NCIP-RO1 toward their ISO Certification. The inspection focused on assessing office systems, workplace organization, and compliance with quality management standards in support of improving operational efficiency and public service delivery.

The activity was attended by all Regional Office personnel and facilitated by representatives from the Central Office led by Ms. Chatty Anne Decena of OPPR and team. Mr. Samuel S. Suarez, consultant and resource person from Hominum Management Consultancy Services (HCMS), served as the lecturer during the workshop.

Discussions focused on the formulation and alignment of Key Performance Indicators to strengthen organizational performance, monitoring systems, and service delivery standards. Participants actively engaged in workshops and planning activities geared toward improving operational efficiency and supporting the officeโ€™s quality management objectives.

HCMS is a professional consulting firm based in the Philippines specializing in human resources and organizational development.

The school items were donated by Cherry Cares by MSN Foundation, Inc., the official Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of CHERRY, formerly known as Cherry Mobile. The organization focuses on grassroots outreach, disaster relief, and community development initiatives across the country.

On May 21, the NCIP team led by Dentist II Dr. Abigael E. Buenaagua-Percil, together with the NCIP Ilocos Norte Provincial Office headed by Atty. Jesus G. Agbayani, conducted the distribution of educational assistance in the municipality of Vintar.

A total of 63 bags with school supplies were distributed to learners of Dasar Primary School located in Sitio Dasar, Brgy. Isic-isic. During the activity, Engineer II Philibert Y. Yogyog also presented the final map of the ancestral domain of Vintar to community members and stakeholders present in the activity.

The team also proceeded to Gubang Primary School in Sitio Gubang, Brgy. Canaam, where 53 bags with school items were distributed to the pupils.

On May 22, the team traveled to Virbira-Angset Elementary School in Sitio Angset, Brgy. Virbira, Municipality of Carasi, where 72 bags containing school supplies were distributed to learners. Dr. Buenaagua-Percil likewise rendered dental services to the students as part of the officeโ€™s continuing community outreach initiatives.

The activity forms part of the officeโ€™s ancestral domain visitation efforts aimed at bringing government services closer to Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs), particularly those residing in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. Through these initiatives, NCIP-RO1 continues to strengthen its support for the welfare and education of IP learners in the region.
