IN PHOTOS: The Ilocos Center for Health Development, Provincial Health Office of Pangasinan and Anda Rural Health Unit, Pangasinan represented Region 1 at the Newborn Health Strategic Plan 2026-2030 Workshop held in Cubao, Quezon City from April 7โ9, 2026.
The Region 1 delegation included:

Spearheaded by the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau (DPCB) in collaboration with UNICEF and WHO Philippines, the workshop focused on bridging critical gaps in neonatal care and accelerating the reduction of preventable newborn deaths nationwide.
Notably, Dr. Gillen Vuelta served as a key presenter for the Leadership and Governance Pillar, sharing vital local perspectives on strengthening health systems to better protect every Filipino newborn.
While prematurity remains a leading cause of neonatal mortality, DOH Ilocos CHD remains steadfast in its mission. By helping shape this 2026-2030 integrated roadmap, we are ensuring that every newborn in the region receives essential preventive, promotive, and curative servicesโfrom pregnancy through early childhood.
Together, we are building a healthier future where no newborn is left behind.
