๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐ค๐ฉ๐ค๐จ: The Regional Training Center (RTC) La Union, together with Coast Guard Non-Officers Course (CGNOC) Class 121-2026, actively participated in a Coastal Clean-Up Drive conducted along the shoreline of Brgy. San Agustin, City of San Fernando, La Union, on 22 May 2026. The said activity, held in support of the Philippine Coast Guard iCARE Program, gathered by various government agencies, partner organizations, and volunteers including Brgy. San Agustin officials, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Philippine National Police (PNP) Maritime Group, Philippine Air Force, Samahang Ilocano, Department of Health (DOH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Poro Marine Protected Area, all are united in promoting environmental protection and coastal preservation.
The joint participation of RTC La Union and CGNOC Class 121-2026 reflects a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, teamwork, and community engagement. Through collective efforts, participants successfully collected and recovered a total of fifty-six (56) sacks of assorted waste materials, contributing significantly to the cleanliness and protection of the marine environment.
This initiative highlights the importance of instilling discipline, responsibility, and environmental awareness among trainees while strengthening collaboration with the local stakeholders and partner agencies. It also reinforces the role of the Philippine Coast Guard in safeguarding the environment and supporting sustainable community development.
The activity concluded with a group photo, reflecting a renewed sense of purpose and unity, and underscoring the values of service, cooperation, and commitment to preserving the nationโs coastal resources.
