𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 06 August 2026, the Deployable Response Group (DRG) Teams of Coast Guard Station (CGS) La Union and Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWLZN) conducted the hauling of relief goods at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Warehouse in Bauang, La Union as part of the ongoing humanitarian response for communities affected by Tropical Depression "MAYMAY."

In coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and other partner agencies, the DRG teams augmented relief operations by providing manpower to facilitate the efficient handling and movement of humanitarian supplies. Their participation supports the government's continuing efforts to expedite the distribution of essential assistance to families affected by the weather disturbance.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to supporting inter-agency humanitarian operations by providing manpower and logistical assistance to ensure the timely delivery of relief goods to affected communities.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Today, 06 August 2026, the Deployable Response Group (DRG) Team of Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWLZN) continued its close coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to monitor the prevailing weather conditions and assess the ongoing situation within the Area of Responsibility (AOR). The team remains on heightened alert and on standby for immediate deployment should weather-related emergencies arise due to Tropical Depression "MAYMAY."

At approximately 10:25 AM, the DRG Team, in collaboration with the Abra Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), conducted a clearing operation by removing fallen trees and other debris obstructing affected areas. The activity helped restore road accessibility, minimize potential hazards, and ensure the safety of motorists and nearby residents.

The Philippine Coast Guard, through the DRG Team, remains committed to supporting disaster response operations by maintaining operational readiness, strengthening coordination with partner agencies, and delivering prompt assistance to communities affected by adverse weather conditions.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: On 06 August 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) San Juan, reinforced by personnel from Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWLZN), assisted in the loading of approximately 130 Charitimba food packs at the San Juan Gymnasium, Brgy. Ili Sur, San Juan, La Union.

In close coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the team helped expedite the preparation and dispatch of relief supplies for families affected by Tropical Depression "MAYMAY." The operation was conducted efficiently and safely, ensuring that humanitarian assistance reached the intended beneficiaries without delay.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting disaster response efforts and collaborating with local government partners to deliver prompt and reliable assistance to communities during times of need.

LOOK: Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWLZN) continues to closely monitor the effects of Tropical Depression "MAYMAY" (International Name: KUJIRA) following the latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 13 issued by DOST-PAGASA at 11:00 AM today, 06 August 2026.

As of 10:00 AM, the center of Tropical Depression MAYMAY was estimated in the vicinity of Tanudan, Kalinga, with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and is moving slowly southeastward. Tropical cyclone winds extend up to 180 kilometers from the center.

Under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and the northwestern portion of Pangasinan remain under strong wind conditions, posing a minimal to minor threat to life and property. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and closely monitor the latest weather advisories.

CGDNWLZN, together with its Coast Guard Stations, Sub-Stations, and Deployable Response Groups (DRGs), remains on heightened alert and prepared to respond to any maritime incidents or emergencies brought about by the prevailing weather disturbance.

The Philippine Coast Guard strongly advises all fisherfolk, operators of small watercraft, and the maritime community to exercise extreme caution before venturing out to sea and to strictly comply with the directives of local authorities and the Philippine Coast Guard.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In response to the effects of Tropical Storm MAYMAY, Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN), deployed personnel to the Province of Abra to reinforce ongoing disaster preparedness and emergency response operations.

The augmented team will work in close coordination with the Abra Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and other responding agencies to enhance search and rescue capabilities, emergency coordination, and disaster response efforts. This deployment aims to strengthen the province's operational readiness and ensure the timely delivery of assistance to affected communities.

The deployment underscores the Philippine Coast Guard's unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and supporting local government units during emergencies, ensuring the safety and resilience of the people of Abra.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In response to the effects of Tropical Storm MAYMAY and prevailing rough sea conditions, Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN) through Coast Guard Station Ilocos Sur, successfully conducted pre-emptive evacuation operations in the municipalities of Santa and Tagudin, Ilocos Sur on 05 August 2026, in close coordination with local government units and partner response agencies.

Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Santa, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Santa, safely evacuated 25 families comprising 100 individuals from Brgy. Tabuculan and transported them to the Municipal Evacuation Center in Brgy. Magsaysay, Santa, Ilocos Sur. Simultaneously, the CGSS Tagudin Deployable Response Group (DRG), together with the MDRRMO Tagudin, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), conducted pre-emptive evacuation operations in Brgy. Farola and Brgy. Libtong, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, successfully evacuating 16 families or 51 individuals to the Regional Evacuation Center in Brgy. Bucao East.

In total, 41 families consisting of 151 individuals were safely evacuated without any untoward incident. These proactive operations highlight the Philippine Coast Guard's unwavering commitment to disaster preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and the protection of lives and communities. Coast Guard Station Ilocos Sur, remains on heightened alert and ready to respond to any emergencies brought about by Tropical Storm MAYMAY, ensuring the continued safety and well-being of the public.

LOOK: Personnel from the Deployable Response Group (DRG) of Coast Guard Station La Union, in coordination with Coast Guard Clearing Outpost San Fernando and the Deployable Response Group of Coast Guard District North Western Luzon, were deployed today, 05 August 2026, to support the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of the City of San Fernando, La Union in conducting pre-emptive evacuation activities and transporting emergency tents in anticipation of the potential effects of Tropical Storm "MAYMAY."

The deployment was carried out to reinforce local disaster response operations by providing additional manpower and logistical support to communities within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) that may be affected by adverse weather conditions. This proactive effort highlights the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to disaster preparedness, effective inter-agency coordination, and the timely delivery of humanitarian assistance before, during, and after severe weather events.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Today, 04 August 2026, personnel of the Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN), together with Coast Guard Station La Union and the Civil Relations Group–North Western Luzon (CRG-NWLZN), attended the National Blood Donors Month celebration held at the Pro Tempore Francisco Ortega Convention Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.

During the awarding ceremony, LTJG JEPTY E UBALDO PCG, LTJG MART PRIL P DESERVA PCG and ENS JAY LORD G BUADO PCG received a Plaque of Appreciation on behalf of the Commander, Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN) in recognition of the Philippine Coast Guard's unwavering support and commitment to life saving blood donation programs.

Through its participation, CGDNWLZN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting voluntary blood donation initiatives and promoting humanitarian service, public health, and community resilience in service to the Filipino people.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In preparation for the possible impacts of Tropical Depression "LUIS," the Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWLZN), together with its Coast Guard Stations and Sub-stations across the Area of Responsibility (AOR), conducted a static display and comprehensive readiness inspection of rescue assets, emergency response equipment, and other operational resources to ensure immediate response capability. The District also continues to closely monitor Typhoon "DOLPHIN," which is currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), as part of its proactive weather monitoring and contingency planning.

The inspection evaluated the operational readiness and serviceability of response assets while reaffirming the preparedness of Coast Guard personnel to respond promptly and effectively to maritime, coastal, and inland emergencies that may result from the prevailing weather systems. This initiative reflects the District's continuing commitment to strengthening disaster response capabilities and sustaining a high state of operational readiness.

With all Deployable Response Groups (DRGs) on standby, CGDNWLZN remains fully committed to protecting lives, safeguarding property, and preserving the marine environment. The District also continues to coordinate closely with local government units, disaster risk reduction and management offices, partner agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure a unified, timely, and efficient response to any emergencies that may arise.
