First of all I want to thank all the founders of overseas worker welfare association for this wonderful opportunity that was granted to us.
Being a part of the OWWA scholarship program has been a huge help for me as an incoming first year college student back in 2018. I was thinking about the possible expenses in college and how to handle that because we all know that college is way too expensive before, especially for those in the lower to middle classes because money is needed to allocate precisely in daily living expenses. Fortunately, OWWA has a scholarship program that will provide financial assistance to OFW children or relatives. Luckily, I'm one of those people who receive financial aid from OWWA, which means a lot to me, especially during my sophomore year, when the pandemic occurs. Every country's economy is in downturn, which means no work and no pay.
During the pandemic, there are significant changes in how students can learn, even if they are under lockdown, and what form of learning they use, which is either online or modular. I chose online classes in order to adapt to the new world conditions, although it is pandemic I was able to excel in academics with the assistance of the scholarship program that has huge factor to aid me financially. Because of the OWWA scholarship program, I was able to help myself not to ask for money for my online schooling and several items I use on a daily basis. With the assistance of OWWA, I was able to survive until the very end. Now that I am a graduate student, I intend to work in an IT company and improve my skills in order to be a professional in my chosen path.
Again, I am grateful to be a part of the OWWA and hope that more OFW beneficiaries may benefit from your assistance in the near future.
