In celebration of Arbor Day 2026, the Local Government Unit of San Fernando, Romblon, through the 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑹𝑶) and in partnership with the 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌 𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑴𝑫𝑹𝑹𝑴𝑶), successfully conducted a Tree Planting Activity on July 17, 2026, in Brgy. Mabulo, San Fernando, Romblon.

This meaningful activity was held pursuant to 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟔𝟑, 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 "𝐀𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨, 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐧," which mandates all Local Government Units to observe Arbor Day every third Friday of July. Through the planting of trees, we reaffirm our commitment to environmental protection, climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and the preservation of our municipality's natural resources for future generations.

On the same day, a Coastal Clean-up Activity was also conducted in Brgy. Mabini, San Fernando, Romblon, led and facilitated by the 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌 𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑴𝑫𝑹𝑹𝑴𝑶), with the support and participation of partner agencies, local officials, volunteers, and community members. The activity highlighted the importance of keeping our shorelines clean, protecting marine ecosystems, and promoting responsible waste management.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate the Municipality of San Fernando's unwavering commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more resilient community.

Let us continue working hand in hand in caring for our forests, protecting our coastlines, and preserving the environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗞𝗨𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗪𝗔 𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗥 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗦 (𝗣𝗢𝗪)

Kasalukuyang isinasagawa ang DENR Permitting on Wheels (POW) ng Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Romblon, sa pamamagitan ng Regulation and Permitting Section (RPS), sa Cajidiocan Social Hall.

Inaanyayahan ang lahat ng mga residente at stakeholders mula sa Cajidiocan, Magdiwang, at San Fernando na samantalahin ang pagkakataong ito upang maproseso ang kanilang mga aplikasyon sa permit, magpa-renew ng environmental permits, magtanong tungkol sa status ng kanilang mga permit, at makatanggap ng technical assistance at iba pang DENR permitting-related services.

Bukas ang serbisyo ngayong araw hanggang bukas, Hulyo 8, 2026, mula 8:00 AM hanggang 5:00 PM. Hinihikayat ang lahat ng may mga kaukulang dokumento at transaksyon sa DENR na magtungo na sa Cajidiocan Social Hall para sa mas mabilis, mas maginhawa, at mas accessible na serbisyo.

2 DAYS. 2 SITES. 1 GOAL: A CLEANER, GREENER SAN FERNANDO IN CELEBRATION OF JUNE AS PHILIPPINE ENVIRONMENT MONTH

Philippine Environment Month is observed every June by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 237, s. 1988. It aims to raise awareness on environmental protection, conservation, and sustainable practices among Filipinos.

As part of the celebration, LGUs nationwide conduct activities that promote a healthier environment. In San Fernando, Romblon, the LGU San Fernando led by Hon. Fernando U. Marin, Municipal Mayor, held 2 key activities:

1. Arbor Day Mangrove Tree Planting - June 25, 2026
Arbor Day highlights the importance of trees in fighting climate change, preventing coastal erosion, and protecting marine life. The planting of 3,000 mangrove seedlings in collaboration with the lead agency, DENR Sibuyan Sub-station, in Sitio Olango helps restore coastal ecosystems and strengthen the community’s resilience to floods and storm surges.

2. Clean-up Drive - June 26, 2026
This activity addresses waste management. The collection of 25 sacks of trash at Lamao Lake, Azagra reduces pollution and keeps area clean for the community.

Together, these activities show the LGU’s commitment to _“Think Globally, Act Locally”_ - small, collective actions today for a cleaner, greener, and more climate-resilient San Fernando. 🌳🌊

n celebration of ZERO WASTE MONTH 2026, LGU San Fernando headed by Hon. Fernando U. Marin, Municipal Mayor, thru the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), led the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign on Solid Waste Management.

The activities prepared were, short film showing in which a model school who practiced zero waste was shown, discussion of 7 tips to achieve zero waste and identifying different types of wastes.. Prizes were given to those students who participated and correctly answered the questions.
