ECC Regional Extension Unit 1 The ECC is a government corporation. It is attached to the Department of Labor and Employment for policy coordination and guidance.

It is a quasi-judicial corporate entity created to implement the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP).

As part of the nationwide Labor Day Celebration, the Employees’ Compensation Commission – Regional Extension Unit I (ECC-REU I) conducted a series of Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Orientations for Kasambahays and Workers in the Informal Sector in various areas across Region I, including one of its stops in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness among kasambahays and workers in the informal sector regarding the benefits and services provided under the Employees’ Compensation Program, particularly for workers who may suffer from work-related sickness, injury, disability, or death. Participants were oriented on the different EC benefits, qualification requirements, and procedures on how to avail of the assistance and services under the program.

The orientation also highlighted the importance of social protection and inclusive workers’ welfare programs, especially for vulnerable sectors of labor. Through the conduct of the series of orientations, ECC-REU I reaffirmed its commitment to bringing government programs closer to workers and ensuring that more Filipinos are informed of their rights and benefits under the Employees’ Compensation Program.

Strengthening awareness on workers’ protection and social security, the Employees’ Compensation Commission – Regional Extension Unit I (ECC-REU I) participated in the Labor Day Celebration for Kasambahays and Workers in the Informal Sector organized by the Department of Labor and Employment Rosales Field Office held at CB Mall in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

The activity gathered kasambahays and members of various associations from different communities, providing them with valuable information on the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) benefits available to workers who experience work-related sickness, injury, disability, or death. Discussions focused on the different benefits provided under the ECP, as well as the procedures and requirements on how qualified workers may avail of these benefits.

The activity emphasized the importance of ensuring that workers in the informal sector are informed of their rights and are aware of the government programs designed to promote their welfare, protection, and social security.

The Employees’ Compensation Commission – Regional Extension Unit I (ECC-REU I) conducted an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Orientation during the Labor Day Celebration for Kasambahays and Workers in the Informal Sector, organized by the Department of Labor and Employment Vigan Field Office and held in Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur.

The activity was attended by kasambahays and members of various associations in the municipality, particularly workers in the informal sector. The orientation emphasized the importance of the EC Program in providing social protection and assistance to workers who may suffer from work-related sickness, injury, disability, or death. The activity was conducted in two separate sessions to accommodate the participants and ensure the effective delivery of information.

Participants were informed about the benefits and services available under the ECP, as well as the significance of ensuring that workers in the informal sector, including kasambahays, are aware of their rights and access to government programs that promote their welfare and security.

The Employees’ Compensation Commission – Regional Extension Unit I (ECC-REU I), in collaboration with the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) - Region I, successfully conducted an Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Orientation for the officers and members of the Association of Private Schools, Colleges and Universities (APSCU) - Ilocos Norte held at Kids' Kollege Inc., Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The APSCU-Ilocos Norte is an organization composed of personnel from private schools and educational institutions that aims to promote the welfare, professional growth, and cooperation among its members in the academe sector.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ awareness and understanding of the benefits and services provided under the EC Program, particularly on workers’ compensation and social protection. The orientation also served as a venue to strengthen collaboration among partner agencies and organizations in promoting the welfare and protection of Filipino workers.

Following the learning session, an open forum was conducted wherein the participants were given the opportunity to raise questions and share insights.
