A sales assistant listed as the number 2 most wanted person at the municipal level was arrested by police authorities in Brgy. Nagsimbaanan, Bacnotan, La Union, on the morning of July 7, 2026.

The accused was identified as a 23-year-old man and a resident of Bacnotan, La Union.

He was arrested at around 10:30 a.m. through the joint efforts of personnel from the Bacnotan Municipal Police Station and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the La Union Police Provincial Office by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of Qualified Theft, with a recommended bail of ₱100,000.

He is now detained at the Bacnotan Municipal Police Station and will be presented before the court that issued the warrant for his arrest. # # #

A suspected drug personality was arrested, while illegal drugs, unlicensed fi****ms, ammunition, and a fragmentation gr***de were confiscated during the implementation of 3 search warrants in Sitio Atay, Brgy. Nagsabaran Sur, Balaoan, La Union on the morning of July 2, 2026.

The suspect was identified as a 47-year-old married man and a resident of the said barangay.

He was arrested by personnel of the Balaoan Municipal Police Station, with support from the Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Intelligence Unit–PIT La Union, La Union Provincial Intelligence Unit, La Union Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, La Union Provincial Explosives and Canine Unit, and the 1st La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Armed with 3 search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 34, Balaoan, La Union, the policemen searched the suspect's residence from 5:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., resulting in his arrest.

Recovered during the operation were more or less two grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of ₱13,600, contained in 17 heat-sealed plastic sachets, along with various drug paraphernalia.

Authorities also seized one caliber .38 revolver, one 12-gauge shotgun, several rounds of live ammunition of different calibers, and one fragmentation hand gr***de.

The marking and inventory of all recovered evidence were conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspect and the required witnesses.

The suspect and all confiscated evidence were brought to the Balaoan Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.

Appropriate criminal complaints for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, are now being prepared for inquest proceedings with the Office of the Assistant Provincial Prosecutor in Luna, La Union. # # #

A high-value drug personality was arrested, while more than 17 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱116,008 were confiscated during a search warrant operation in Brgy. Lomboy, Santo Tomas, La Union on the morning of July 2, 2026.

The suspect was identified as a 44-year-old unemployed resident of Brgy. Lomboy, Santo Tomas, La Union, who is listed as a regional high-value individual and a high-value target of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 under Coplan "Double Edge."

The operation was conducted by the Santo Tomas Municipal Police Station, with support from the La Union Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Tactical Support Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1, Agoo Municipal Police Station, La Union Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 1, and PDEA La Union Provincial Office.

Seized during the operation were 5 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing more or less 17.06 grams of suspected shabu, along with non-drug evidence consisting of 2 digital weighing scales, 3 improvised glass tooters, 2 pairs of scissors, 3 pouches, 1 gray backpack, and 1 black Honor Android mobile phone.

The inventory and marking of all seized items were conducted at the scene in the presence of the suspect and the mandatory witnesses, in accordance with the procedures prescribed by law.

Appropriate charges are now being prepared against the suspect for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. # # #

One of the Zamboanga Peninsula's most elusive fugitives is finally behind bars after personnel of the Bacnotan Municipal Police Station arrested the region's number 2 most wanted person during a manhunt operation in Brgy. Nagsimbaanan, Bacnotan, La Union on the evening of July 1, 2026.

The accused was identified as a 39-year-old male hollow blocks maker and a resident of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.

He was arrested at around 7:32 p.m. by joint operatives of the Bacnotan Municipal Police Station, serving as the lead unit, together with the Midsalip Municipal Police Station, pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 30, 9th Judicial Region, for 3 counts of Qualified R**e under Article 266-A in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353.

He allegedly went into hiding in Bacnotan, La Union, after the charges were filed against him.

Through intensified intelligence gathering and close coordination between the operating units, authorities successfully tracked down and arrested the fugitive.

The accused is currently under the custody of the Bacnotan Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition prior to his turnover to the issuing court. # # #
