Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 136, series of 2026, the public is informed that work in the DPWH Agusan del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office is suspended starting 1:00 P.M. onwards today, September 28, 2026.

Nevertheless, DPWH ADS 2nd DEO will continue to maintain necessary preparedness/response to disasters and calamities operations and respond to urgent infrastructure and public safety concerns during the suspension of work.

Chief Maintenance Engineer Edwin T. Nacorda formally assumed the duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Assistant District Engineer of the DPWH ADS 2nd District Engineering Office.

ADE Nacorda took his oath as Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Assistant District Engineer and received the Key of Responsibility, marking the start of his new assignment.

The office warmly welcomes ADE Nacorda in his new role and wishes him well in his new assignment. His expertise and professionalism will be a valued part of the Districtโ€™s work.

A send-off program was held in honor of OIC-Assistant District Engineer Gian Carlo S. Toribio, who is now the OIC-Assistant District Engineer of the DPWH Bohol 1st District Engineering Office pursuant to Special Order No. 291, Series of 2026.

ADE Toribio assumed office at the ADS 2nd DEO on February 18, 2026.

During the program, District Engineer Ben Alden R. Serna and the Districtโ€™s key officials, together with ADS 1st DEO OIC-Assistant District Engineer Leodegario M. Mazo, former Chief of the Quality Assurance Section of ADS 2nd DEO, shared their messages of appreciation and bittersweet farewell.

Office personnel also prepared presentations and tokens as a simple gesture of gratitude.

In his message, ADE Toribio thanked everyone for their support and cooperation during his time in the office, giving particular emphasis to DE Serna for his trust and for the opportunity and honor to work alongside him at the helm of the District.

All the best in your new assignment and thank you for your service and contributions to the office, ADE Toribio.

Engr. Johndel D. Cequiรฑa formally assumed his post as Regular Budgetary Personnel Engineer II of the DPWH Agusan del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office (DPWH ADS 2nd DEO) following the signing of his Assumption of Duty and District Oathtaking held earlier today, September 7, 2026.

The oath was administered by District Engineer Ben Alden R. Serna and witnessed by the District Officeโ€™s key officials.

Prior to his appointment to a regular plantilla position, Engr. Cequiรฑa served as a coterminous Engineer II under the Build, Build, Build Program. He will continue his assignment with the Maintenance Section where he will perform engineering functions in support of the Districtโ€™s maintenance operations and programs.

DPWH ADS 2nd DEO's Well Driller Supervisor Inres Retires

After 40 years of dedicated service to the Department of Public Works and Highways Agusan del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office (DPWH ADS 2nd DEO), Mr. Eduardo E. Inres, Well Driller Supervisor I assigned to the Quality Assurance Section, officially retired from government service.

District Engineer Ben Alden R. Serna, together with the Districtโ€™s key officials, conferred upon Mr. Inres on September 3, 2026, the Districtโ€™s token of appreciation in recognition of his years of committed and faithful service to the Department.

ADSSU Civil Engineering Students Complete OJT at DPWH 2nd DEO

Fourteen fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering major in Structural Engineering from Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) completed their 30-day, 240-hour On-the-Job Training at the DPWH Agusan del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office (ADS 2nd DEO) on August 26, 2026.

DE Ben Alden R. Serna personally sent off the students following the completion of their training as they move closer to finishing their academic journey.

The OJT provided the students with practical experience and exposure to actual civil engineering works in a public office setting

Flooding to Flowing in Kanto Banahaw, ADS

The recurring waterlogging along Kanto Banahaw in Rosario, Agusan del Sur has caused inconvenience and danger to pedestrians and motorists alike, especially at night during rainy weather.

To address the problem, the DPWH Agusan del Sur 2nd District Engineering Office installed culverts and cleared clogged canals to improve the flow of rainwater and drainage in the area. The intervention was carried out following complaints from residents in the area.

With improved drainage, residents and motorists can now expect less water accumulation along the roadway, safer and more convenient passage during rainy days, and better protection of the road from water-related deteriorationโ€”helping ensure more reliable access for the community.
