HEIGHT AND AGE WAIVER PROCESSING

For applicants who does not meet the minimum height requirement of 1.57m for male and 1.52m for female. Please secure an approved height waiver signed by the Chief, BFP.

For applicants whose age is more than 30 years old but not more than 35 years old by the day of Oath Taking Ceremony. Kindly secure an age waiver approved by the Chief, BFP.

Attached herewith is the additional merits for securing your waivers.

6. Who may apply for Fire Officer 1 (FO1)?

Applicants must:
Be a Filipino citizen;
Possess good moral character;
Be between 21 and 30 years old;
Meet the prescribed height and weight requirements;
Hold a bachelor's degree;
Possess the required eligibility; and
Pass all required examinations and evaluations.

7. What is the minimum height requirement?

Male applicants: 1.57 meters (5'2")
Female applicants: 1.52 meters (5'0")

8. What is the weight requirement?

Applicants must not be more or less than five (5) kilograms from the standard weight corresponding to their height, age, and s*x.

9. What educational qualification is required?

Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution.

10. What eligibility is required?

Applicants must possess any of the following:
CSC Second Level Eligibility;
RA 1080 Eligibility;
MARINA; or
PD 907 Eligibility.

11. Are applicants with height deficiencies allowed to apply?

Yes, provided they secure a Certificate of Waiver approved by the Chief, BFP, when applicable.

12. Can former government employees who were dismissed dishonorably apply?

NO. Applicants must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment.

13. Can applicants with criminal convictions apply?

NO. Applicants must not have been convicted by final judgment of a crime involving moral turpitude.

Fire Officer 1 (FO1) Recruitment Cycle 2026

1. How many Fire Officer 1 (FO1) positions are available in Region 8?

A total of 161 FO1 positions is available for the current recruitment cycle.

2. How are the 161 positions allocated?

The positions are distributed as follows:
Special Rescue Force (SRF) – 42
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) – 28
Fire Suppression Operations – 91

3. Can I choose the quota I want to apply for (SRF, EMS, or Regular Force)?

YES. The allocation is pre-planned to meet the needs of an ever-evolving Fire Bureau. Final assignment shall be determined by the Bureau based on operational requirements.

4. When is the deadline for registration?

The BFP e-HIRE Portal registration is open until July 20, 2026.

5. Where do I apply?

Applicants MUST apply online through the BFP Electronic Hiring and Information Registry Engine (e-HIRE) (https://bfpehire-vismin.tech) and coordinate with their nearest local fire station for the initial screening prior submission of application.
