MLGOO Mary Jane Centino warmly welcomed once again to LGU San Francisco the Apprentices of Batch 60 (Barangay Maasahan) as they embark on their Module V: Local Government Solutions Learning Visit.

This meaningful learning engagement is made possible through the invaluable support and commitment of Mayor Val Pinat, Vice Mayor Maria Luz Pinat, the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, functionaries, and all stakeholders of LGU San Francisco, whose collective efforts continue to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and good local governance.

Accompanying the group are their dedicated coaches, DILG Region XI LGMED Chief Josh Porgatorio and Del Carmen MLGOO Estela Vallespin, whose guidance and mentorship continue to enrich the apprentices' learning journey.

We are honored to serve as a Laboratory of Learning and to share our governance practices, innovations, and development initiatives that have contributed to responsive, inclusive, and people-centered public service.

Again proving, San Francisco Anti-Drug Abuse Council got a perfect rating of 100% in the 2026 ADAC Performance Audit. This rating has been consistently achieved for 6 consecutive years.

Kudos to Mayor Val Pinat and Vice Mayor Malou Pinat for scaling up the standards and for being the leaders that inspire everyone to converge to promote peaceful and drug -cleared locality.

🕊️ COMMEMORATING IDADAIT 2026 🕊️

The Local Government Unit of San Francisco, Surigao del Norte, through the Municipal Anti - Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) and Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) joins the nation and the global community in observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT) 2026.

With this year's theme, "World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses," and in support of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening drug prevention efforts, promoting community awareness, and fostering collaborative solutions toward a safer and healthier society.

Let us continue working together with the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), partner agencies, and our communities in building a drug-free, resilient, and progressive San Francisco for all.

June 15, 2026. The Municipality of San Francisco, led by Mayor Val Pinat Pinat and Vice Mayor Hon. Maria Luz B. Pinat, together with the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Heads of Offices, was honored to welcome the twenty-one (21) Local Government Operations Officers from various regions of Visayas and Mindanao for their Local Government Operations Observation Visit.

Accompanying the participants were their coaches and mentors, Ms. Milariza L. Beniga, Chief of the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD) of DILG Caraga Region, and Director Mika-Chan S. Magtulis, City Director of DILG Davao City.

The visit served as a valuable platform for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices in local governance, providing participants with firsthand insights into how development planning drives effective, responsive, and accountable local governance.

Affirmed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), LGU San Francisco is proudly recognized as a 2025 Passer of the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH)!!!

This achievement reflects the collective dedication of the local government in ensuring responsible stewardship of public resources and adherence to the highest standards of fiscal transparency.

🤝 Strengthening Partnerships for a Safer Community!

PD Domingo E. Bulabog together with MLGOO Mary Jane C. Centino had a productive meeting with PCpt Jun Jireh Arsenio, Chief of Police of the San Francisco, to discuss collaborative programs and initiatives geared toward sustaining peace, order, and public safety in the municipality.

MLGOO Mary Jane C. Centino served as one of the resource speakers during the Community Healing, Reconciliation, and Transformation (CHRT) Program spearheaded by the Philippine Army in partnership with the San Francisco Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and the Surigao del Norte Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC).

The activity aimed to provide comprehensive psychosocial support and mental health services to individuals and communities affected by insurgency, while promoting healing, resilience, and sustainable peace.

Ms. Centino facilitated discussions on Community Empowerment and Development and conducted a Conflict Resolution Workshop, emphasizing the importance of active citizen participation, community resilience, and peaceful conflict management. As part of the session, the Katarungang Pambarangay Program was also discussed to raise awareness on the barangay justice system as an effective mechanism for amicable settlement of disputes and the promotion of harmony within communities.

Through collaborative efforts and community engagement, the program reaffirmed the commitment of government agencies and stakeholders to fostering peace, reconciliation, and inclusive development at the grassroots level.
