🚸 SCHOOL ZONE TRAFFIC AND ROAD SAFETY ASSESSMENT 🚦

As part of the National Resilience Month Celebration, the MDRRMO-SIDRU – Municipality of San Isidro, Leyte conducted a "School Zone Traffic and Road Safety Assessment" to promote safer roads and a safer learning environment for our students.

The activity focused on observing traffic flow, assessing road and pedestrian conditions, identifying potential hazards, and monitoring safety concerns around school zones, particularly during school opening and dismissal hours.

This initiative highlights the importance of preparedness, risk awareness, and community participation in protecting our learners and ensuring safer school surroundings.

🚨 SAN ISIDRO MPS SIMULATION EXERCISE (SIMEX) ON ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT RESPONSE 🚨

The San Isidro Municipal Police Station (MPS), together with MDRRMO-SIDRU, JFK-MFSI, successfully conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on Active Shooter Incident Response.

The exercise enhanced inter-agency coordination, emergency medical response, and tactical operations to strengthen preparedness and ensure a faster, more effective response during critical incidents.

🚑Strengthening Emergency Response, Saving Lives!💪

From July 20–25, 2026, the Municipality of San Isidro, Leyte, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), successfully conducted the Integrated Search and Rescue (SAR) Training with Basic Life Support (BLS), Standard First Aid (SFA), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to strengthen the emergency response capabilities of our community.

Through interactive lectures, hands-on demonstrations, practical exercises, actual Search and Rescue (SAR) simulations, and an Emergency Response Amazing Race, participants enhanced their knowledge and life-saving skills essential for responding effectively to emergencies and disasters.

The training brought together members of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs), MDRRMO personnel and staff, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the Academe, and representatives from the different departments of the Local Government Unit (LGU). This collaborative effort promoted teamwork, coordination, and preparedness in building a safer and more resilient Municipality of San Isidro.

This activity would not have been possible without the unwavering support and leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Remedio B. Veloso, Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Carmichael L. Villarino, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, especially Hon. Glenn Velasco, Chairperson of the Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and MDRRMO Mr. Carlo Pacito Villarino, whose commitment to disaster preparedness and capacity building continues to strengthen the municipality's emergency response programs.

Together, we remain committed to building a prepared, responsive, and disaster-resilient Municipality of San Isidro.

The Municipality of San Isidro, Leyte, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), proudly celebrates the successful conduct of the "Regional Rescue Jamboree 2026", held in "Ormoc City, Leyte". Participating as an "Observer" was both an honor and a valuable learning experience, providing the opportunity to witness the exceptional skills, teamwork, discipline, and professionalism demonstrated by the participating rescue teams from across the region. The event served as an excellent platform for sharing best practices, fostering collaboration among emergency responders, and strengthening disaster preparedness and response capabilities.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Remedio B. Veloso for his unwavering support and commitment to strengthening disaster risk reduction and management initiatives in our municipality. Our sincere appreciation also goes to our Municipal Vice Mayor Carmichael L. Villarino, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Hon. Glenn Velasco, and our MDRRM Officer Mr. Carlo Pacito Villarino for their invaluable guidance, encouragement, and continued support in promoting disaster resilience and emergency preparedness.

The knowledge, experiences, and best practices gained during the Regional Rescue Jamboree 2026 will greatly contribute to enhancing the capabilities of the Municipality of San Isidro in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and community resilience.
