San Jorge National High School’s life began when Dr. Cecilia Doroja’s dream of putting up a school in the town proper was proposed to Hon. Grey on September of 2009. Being equally responsible and ultimately advocate of quality education, they lost no time in seeking help of making the dream real. Having been a municipality for almost 30 years the town proper have not established a secondary school

which made the elementary graduates study at Buenavista National High School, Ramon t. Diaz Memorial High School-Gandara, and a limited number of students at Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus. These difficulties and sentiments felt is more than enough to be the reason of establishing a nearby school. The plan to create a secondary school was drafted in coordination and assistance of persons like Mrs. Elmer Gonzales, Mrs. Estrella C. Ortiz, and Mr. Peddie Obiado. In spite of some challenges and struggles along the way, they continued and remained helpful instruments in making this dream possible. The petition was sent to Dr. Alfredo Dacuro, the Schools Division Superintendent, requesting him to allow the secondary school to operate as of School Year 2010-2011. Dr. Dacuro approved the proposed plan as long as the school is connected with Ramon T. Diaz Memorial High School - Gandara. Thus, the school was then named first as RTDMHS – San Jorge Annex. It enrolled 33 students for First Year High School level and 18 students for Second Year High School level. They have their classes in a makeshift classrooms located at Barangay Mancol, San Jorge, Samar as of July 17, 2010. The school was under the supervision of Mrs. Britania, RTDMHS – Principal. On January of 2011, the school transferred at Brgy, Erenas, San Jorge, Samar with its second name RTDMHS-Erenas Annex. Hon. Mayor Nancy B. Grey continued her efforts and assistance in putting up rooms, allocating budgets for LGU-paid teachers, and finding a bigger land area for the school. The pioneering teachers were Mr. Peddie R. Obiado, Ms. Karen C. Doroja, Mrs. Ritchel P. Villanueva, Ms. Imee Jamilon, Ms. Mylene N. Docena, Ms. Verna P. Erma Bote, Ms. Joanne Labian, and Mrs. Joan O. Catienza. As a result of all the help, support, and cooperation from all the needed agencies, the school was finally and successfully established. They moved to its new, wider, and beautiful location on Dec of 2012. Its new school head is Mrs. Maria Elena B. Britania. The recent school area is located at Poblacion 2 San Jorge, Samar donated by the LGU-San Jorge, Samar represented by its Local Chief Executive, Mayor Nancy B. Grey. Three years past, now SJNHS takes it pride as it had its first batch of high school graduates (S.Y.2012-2013) comprising 36 promising students. They are the first realized dream. Though the future holds forth bigger challenges but with all the active participation and generous support to all undertakings God has something more in store for San Jorge National High School. Dream on, especially if it’s meant for ultimate goodness. Dream on, for dreams do come true.
