๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐ โ The 3rd Infantry (Regardless of What) Battalion, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, continues to capacitate communities through sustained community dialogues aimed at providing accurate information on national security concerns, government programs, and the importance of active community participation in maintaining peace and security.
Through these engagements, the unit provides relevant information on the West Philippine Sea (WPS), the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 (ATA), the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), Philippine Army recruitment, and other government programs and initiatives.
Particular emphasis is given to the West Philippine Sea, as a better understanding of the issue enables community members to appreciate the importance of protecting the countryโs sovereignty, sovereign rights, and national interests. Providing factual information also helps counter misinformation and enables residents to better understand how developments in the WPS may affect the countryโs security, economy, livelihoods, and future generations.
The dialogue also highlights the provisions of Republic Act No. 11479, or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020, particularly those concerning the prohibition of material support and other forms of assistance to persons or organizations covered by the law. The 3IB emphasizes the importance of understanding oneโs legal responsibilities and avoiding acts that may constitute offenses under the ATA.
Alongside legal awareness, the Battalion continues to encourage remaining members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) within its area of operations to abandon the armed struggle and return to the folds of the law. This call is anchored on the governmentโs continuing efforts to provide opportunities for former combatants to return to their families and communities and avail themselves of appropriate government assistance and reintegration programs.
The 3IB likewise reminds community members that lasting peace cannot be achieved through armed violence or continued support for armed groups. Instead, residents are encouraged to work with the government, report threats and unlawful activities through proper channels, and actively participate in programs that promote peace, security, and development.
Through its Pulong-Pulong, the Battalion seeks to transform information into community awareness and awareness into responsible actionโstrengthening the ability of residents to make informed decisions, counter misinformation, reject armed violence, and contribute to peaceful and secure communities.
The 3IB remains committed to sustaining meaningful dialogue with the people and strengthening the partnership among the Philippine Army, local government units, and communities in support of lasting peace and development in Samar.
