IN PHOTOS | Schools Division Office of San Jose City Receives Regional Recognition for Functional School Governance

The Schools Division Office of San Jose City received a Plaque of Recognition from the Department of Education Region III during the Regional Awarding of Functional School Governance Councils (SGCs) and Capability Building on Expanded School Governance held on June 18–19, 2026 at Hacienda Gracia Resort and Hotel, Lubao, Pampanga.

The award recognizes the Division’s outstanding achievement in attaining 100% Functional School Governance Councils in all public secondary schools, reflecting its strong commitment to participatory governance, collaborative leadership, and quality education.

Receiving the award on behalf of SDO San Jose City were Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Josie C. Palioc, CESO VI, School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Dr. Romeo R. Vicmudo, and Senior Education Program Specialist for Monitoring and Evaluation (SEPS M&E) Roy C. Vizon.

The recognition highlights the collective efforts of the Schools Division Office, school heads, teachers, and stakeholders in strengthening school governance and advancing quality basic education across the division.

IN PHOTOS | Nine SDO San Jose City Schools Recognized in DepEd Region III Functional SGC Awarding

Nine schools from the Schools Division Office of San Jose City earned regional recognition during the Regional Awarding of Functional School Governance Councils (SGCs) and Capacity-Building on Expanded School Governance conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd) Region III on June 18–19, 2026, at Hacienda Gracia Resort and Hotel in Lubao, Pampanga.

The awarding ceremony recognized schools that demonstrated exemplary implementation of the School Governance Council (SGC) framework, highlighting effective school leadership, collaborative decision-making, and strong stakeholder engagement in support of quality basic education.

The nine recognized schools from SDO San Jose City are:

* San Jose City National High School
* Porais National High School
* Tondod National High School
* Tayabo High School
* Kita-Kita High School
* Sto. Niño 3rd National High School
* Caanawan National High School
* Bagong Sikat Integrated School
* San Agustin Integrated School

The activity also featured capacity-building sessions on the implementation of the Expanded School Governance framework, equipping school leaders and stakeholders with enhanced knowledge and strategies to strengthen participatory governance and foster shared accountability in schools.

The recognition reflects the commitment of SDO San Jose City schools to institutionalizing effective governance practices, empowering School Governance Councils, and cultivating meaningful partnerships with parents, local government units, community organizations, and other education stakeholders in advancing learner-centered and responsive education.

Bilang bahagi ng programang “Bagong Simula, Bagong Pag-asa: Tungo sa Kinabukasan ng mga Mag-aaral na may Kapansanan,” nagsagawa ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng San Jose City at Persons with Disability Affairs Office ng isang Gift-Giving Activity para sa mga mag-aaral ng Special Needs Education (SNEd) sa elementarya sa San Jose West Central School (SJWCS) SPEd Center.

Pinangunahan ni City Mayor Hon. Josel R. Violago ang pamamahagi ng school supplies, kasama sina Hon. Andrei T. Ignacio, City Councilor, Dr. Beatriz S. Martinez, Education Program Supervisor ng SNEd, at Ma’am Catherine P. Laureta, Punong-guro ng SJWCS. Orientation on Scanning Machine Held for DISA Implementation

San Jose City, Nueva Ecija – June 17, 2026 — Education Program Supervisors, Cluster Heads, School Administrative Officers (AOs), and Administrative Support Staff (ASS) gathered at the Alumni Hall of San Jose City National High School for the orientation on the use of the scanning machine for the Division-Initiated Standardized Assessment (DISA).

The orientation equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed for the proper encoding and efficient operation of the scanning machine, a key tool in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of assessment results.

The activity forms part of the Division’s continuing efforts with the guidance of SDS Dr. Josie C. Palioc, CESO VI to strengthen assessment processes through technology, promoting efficiency, accuracy, and data-driven decision-making in the implementation of the Division-Initiated Standardized Assessment (DISA).

SAN JOSE CITY, Nueva Ecija — The Schools Division Office of San Jose City actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on Wednesday, June 18, 2026.

In line with the Department of Education and NDRRMC quarterly mandate, personnel performed the drill at exactly 9:00 AM — the nationwide time set by the Office of Civil Defense for this quarter.

𝐒𝐀𝐍 𝐉𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘, 𝐍𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐄𝐜𝐢𝐣𝐚 – The Schools Division of San Jose City successfully presented its Division Performance in Literacy and Numeracy during the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, highlighting the division's continuing commitment to improving foundational learning outcomes among learners.

The presentation was delivered by Schools Division Superintendent 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐂. 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐜, 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐎 𝐕𝐈, who was accompanied by 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐏. 𝐓𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨, Assistant to the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent. The division's accomplishments and initiatives in strengthening literacy and numeracy interventions were shared before education leaders and stakeholders from across the region.

The meeting was presided over by 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐆. 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨, 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐎 𝐈𝐈𝐈, together with 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐋. 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐧, 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐎 𝐈𝐕 and other regional officials, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing quality basic education throughout the division.

One of the highlights of the gathering was the recognition of five elementary schools from the Schools Division of San Jose City for their commendable performance in attaining a successful 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐂𝐑𝐋𝐀) 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞, reflecting their dedication to fostering quality education for Key Stage 1 learners.

SDO San Jose City welcomes two new private schools

The DepEd Regional Office has approved the Permit to Operate of Porais Baptist Academy and Milestoners Learning Academy, expanding access to quality education in San Jose City.

Meanwhile, Jia Chloe Learning Center received its Government Recognition Permit, confirming its compliance with national standards.

The division evaluation was conducted by the Schools Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) led by Dr. Romeo R. Vicmudo, with SGOD Supervisor Vismark T. Manuel and Senior Education Program Specialist Roy C. Vizon ensuring adherence to DepEd requirements.

The initiative supports the Division’s mandate to improve education access, with SDO San Jose City, under OIC SDS Dr. Josie C. Palioc, reaffirming its commitment to quality and inclusive education.
