𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞𝗦 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀

The STARBOOKS Orientation was successfully conducted on April 8, 2026 at the Library Extension, led by Michael Carlo Canlas Mariano from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

The activity aimed to introduce participants to STARBOOKS, the country’s first digital science library, which provides access to a wide range of science and technology resources even without internet connectivity. The orientation highlighted the platform’s features and its importance in supporting research and academic learning.

The event was attended by Ms. Rachel Ann Casido, Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs, who expressed support for initiatives that strengthen access to educational resources and promote innovation within the institution.

The successful conduct of the orientation reflects the institution’s continued commitment to enhancing learning through technology and information accessibility.

During the times when Ang Kislap Press needed a space to meet, prepare, and make countless outputs, the Academic Resource Center (ARC) served as the constant shelter for all its staffers. The Academic Resource Center Director, Ma’am Rionah Lim-Celis, as well as the staff who cared for the space—from dusk until late into the night—were always present in every chapter of the journey. Ang Kislap Press is deeply thankful for their generosity in opening the doors no matter the hour, making every meeting comfortable and serene.

From the late nights to the shared laughter, the valuable resources provided, and the countless memories that made everyone feel safe, Ang Kislap Press expresses sincere gratitude for the ARC room and staff members. More than just a library extension to hold meetings on, the ARC grew to be Ang Kislap Press’ safe haven to express the truth and showcase creativity.
