Empowering Public Service Through Innovation: HRM, Accounting, MIS, and MSWD Personnel Join Workspace and AICS System Workshop

The Provincial Government of La Union, through the Provincial Information Communications and Technology Office (PICTO), conducted a Workshop on the Workspace and AICS System for selected personnel of the Local Government Unit of San Juan, La Union, particularly from the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), Accounting Office, Management Information Systems (MIS), and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

The workshop provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in using the Workspace platform and AICS System, enhancing their competencies to deliver more efficient, accurate, and responsive public services.

Municipal Mayor Hon. Mariquita P. Ortega expressed her sincere gratitude to Governor Hon. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega and the Provincial Information Communications and Technology Office (PICTO) for their continued support and commitment to advancing digital governance and innovation in local government operations.

LGU San Juan Benchmarks PRIME-HRM Best Practices in Agoo

The Local Government Unit of San Juan, headed by Mayor Mariquita P. Ortega, together with Vice Mayor Arturo P. Valdriz and the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, through the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), conducted a benchmarking activity at the Municipal Government of Agoo, led by Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, held on May 7, 2026.

The activity aimed to learn Agoo’s Human Resource Management best practices that contributed to their successful attainment of PRIME-HRM recognition. The HRMO of Agoo presented their systems and innovations in recruitment, performance management, learning and development, and records management, followed by an exchange of insights and experiences between both LGUs.

The benchmarking provided valuable learning opportunities that will guide LGU San Juan in strengthening its HR systems and advancing organizational excellence. The visit concluded with a brief tour at Agoo Eco Park, showcasing the municipality’s eco-tourism initiative and warm hospitality.

Alinsunod sa umiiral na mga batas, patakaran ng Civil Service Commission, at sa pagsusulong ng disiplina, integridad, at propesyonalismo sa serbisyo publiko, mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang pakikilahok ng mga empleyado ng pamahalaan sa anumang uri ng sugal, lalo na kung ito ay isinasagawa sa oras ng trabaho, loob ng opisina, o gamit ang oras at kagamitan ng pamahalaan.

Ang serbisyo publiko ay nangangailangan ng mataas na antas ng responsibilidad at pagiging huwaran sa komunidad. Inaasahan ang bawat kawani na panatilihin ang dignidad ng kanilang tungkulin at iwasan ang mga gawaing maaaring makasira sa imahe ng pamahalaan.

⚖️ Ang sinumang mapapatunayang lalabag ay maaaring maharap sa kaukulang administrative sanctions alinsunod sa umiiral na batas at regulasyon.

🚫 Government employees are now prohibited from engaging in ANY FORM OF GAMBLING.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued Resolution No. 2600111, which bans government officials and employees from participating in gambling activities—whether in person or online, and regardless of location or time.

Prohibited acts include:

🎰 Entering or staying in casinos and gambling establishments
💻 Engaging in online gambling such as online casinos, e-bingo, and e-sabong
🎲 Participating in or organizing any other gambling activity

The policy aims to strengthen integrity in public service and uphold the principle that public office is a public trust.

The resolution was published today in The Philippine Star and will take effect 15 days after publication.
