The Department of Trade and Industry's Bulacan Provincial Office, in collaboration with the BI-GI Association and the Bulacan Hardware Association Inc., recently hosted a comprehensive seminar on Black Iron and Galvanized Iron. This event took place on October 30, 2024, at the Malolos Resort Club Royale. It served as an informative platform where stakeholders engaged in detailed discussions about the Philippine National Standard (PNS) 26, along with PNS 2145. The session aimed to educate participants on the proper usage, technical specifications, chemical compositions, and key distinctions between the two types of iron standards.
The primary objective of this discussion was to foster a deeper understanding and ensure effective advocacy among all stakeholders involved in the industry. It emphasized the importance of adhering to national standards and best practices to enhance product quality and consumer safety.
Three esteemed resource speakers, representing the Bureau of Philippine Standards, the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau, and the BI-GI Association, led the discussions. They shared invaluable insights and expertise, addressing various aspects of Black and Galvanized Iron, while also responding to questions from participants to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the topics presented. The event proved to be an enriching experience, strengthening the relationship between regulatory bodies and key industry players.

Finally, the gathering included a variety of hardware and construction supplies retailers, represented by their owners and key staff, who were eager to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore potential collaborations within the industry. This assembly of stakeholders aimed to foster stronger connections and promote growth within the hardware and construction sectors in Bulacan.
