𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬-𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐝, isa sa ating mga natatanging kailyan at retiradong Professor of Pediatrics ng University of the Philippines, ay ginawaran ng 𝐔𝐏𝐀𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐃 bilang pagkilala sa kanyang natatanging kontribusyon sa medisina, edukasyon, pananaliksik, at paglilingkod sa komunidad.

Nagtapos ng Doctor of Medicine sa UP College of Medicine noong 1980. Matapos ang kanyang specialty training sa Pediatrics sa Philippine General Hospital, nagpatuloy siya sa Pediatric Endocrinology sa University of Birmingham sa United Kingdom.

Nagbalik siya sa Pilipinas at naging faculty member ng UP College of Medicine. Naging Clinical Associate Professor at kalaunan ay naging full time Professor of Pediatrics. Noong 2024, ipinagkaloob sa kanya ang titulong Professor Emeritus.

Sa kabila ng kanyang mga responsibilidad bilang doktor at g**o, pinahalagahan din niya ang kanyang pamilya. Kasama ang kanyang asawang si General Rolito B. Abad at tatlong anak.

Para kay Dr. Ramos-Abad, ang layunin ng buhay ay walang pag-iimbot na paglilingkod, malasakit, at kahandaang tumulong sa kapwa.

📢 PAHAYAG SA PUBLIKO: MGA PAGBABAGO SA TRABAHO AT KLASE

Alinsunod sa Memorandum Circular No. 131 mula sa Tanggapan ng Pangulo, ang Pamahalaang Bayan ng San Narciso ay magpapatupad ng alternative work arrangements (skeletal workforce) ngayong Huwebes, Agosto 20, 2026, dahil sa inaasahang mabibigat na pag-ulan dulot ng pinalakas na Habagat.

Mananatiling bukas at buong-serbisyong maglilingkod ang mga essential offices tulad ng kalusugan, disaster response (MDRRMO), at pampublikong kaligtasan.

Ang mga klase naman sa lahat ng antas sa pampubliko at pampribadong paaralan ay lilipat sa alternative learning modes.

Pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na manatiling ligtas, mag-ingat, at subaybayan ang ating opisyal na pahina para sa mga susunod na patalastas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

🌧️ FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES SUSPENDED

Due to the continuous rainfall caused by the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), face-to-face classes are suspended at all levels, in both public and private schools in the municipality today, August 17, 2026, Monday.

All schools are advised to implement the appropriate alternative delivery modes of learning.
