A promise kept!
The Damili Scholarship Program continues, with 11 scholars having just received their stipend for the second semester of the 2025-2026 school year.
Former Mayor Mike Hernando led the distribution of the stipend to the scholars at his residence with each scholar receiving 5,000 pesos to help them get through their college education. Vice-Mayor Napoleon Hernando was also present during the distribution.
The Damili Scholarship Program was established by Mr. Mike Hernando when he was still the Mayor to help the youth with their educational needs. He encouraged then San Nicoleños, locals and from abroad, to donate to the program.
Even after he stepped down from office in 2025, Mike Hernando remains true to his word—continuing his legacy of sending youth to college. He fulfilled his promise to continue the scholarship program, funding it from his own pocket and from the funds gathered before.
