PROVINCE WIDE MODERN DANCE COMPETITION
RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Each group must be composed of a minimum of seven (7) members/dancers.
2. Participants must be bonafide residents of Ilocos Norte and must be 13 years old and above.
3. Registration and submission of list of dancers will start on November 30 and will end on December 8 at 12:00 NN.
4. The performers in the finals should also be the performers in the elimination round. In the event that a name in the list wasn't able to perform in the elimination round, the reason for the absence must be indicated in the application form and must be attached with supporting document or proof.
4. Registration is free and voluntary. The participating groups must be responsible for their own needs for the competition and for the safety of their members.
5. Piece to be performed should be in the genres of either Hiphop, Jazz or Contemporary Dance orva combination of all three.
6. Performance is limited to 3-5 minutes only.
7. Music is left to the discretion of the group, provided that the language and lyrics must not be subliminal, vulgar or sexually suggestive.
8. The performance is left to the creativity of the group as long as it will not reflect subliminal, vulgar and sexually suggestive acts/routines.
9. Participation in the competition is at the group’s/dancer’s own risk. Safety and well-being of the participants must be the utmost consideration of the group. Thus, the organizers and the LGU will not be held liable for any untoward incident that may happen before, during and after the competition.
10. Costume or attire is left to the creativity of the group. Provided, proper clothing should be observed throughout the performance.
11. The use of props is allowed as long as they will not cause any problem in the venue and delay in the program timeline and to succeeding participant/s. The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, flames, smoke generators, live animals, broken glasses sharp objects and the like are strictly prohibited.
12. Failure to comply with any of the foregoing rules will result to disqualification.
13. The criteria for judging are as follows:
CHOREOGRAPHY - 35 POINTS
(creativity, artistic and visual composition)
PERFORMANCE QUALITY - 35 POINTS
(concept, timing, synchronization, variation,
Fluidity of movements, stage presence,
Confidence and enthusiasm)
OVARALL APPEAL - 20 POINTS
(audience impact and wow factor)
COSTUME AND PROPS - 10 POINTS
(aesthetic appeal, appropriateness,
and relevance to the concept) ___________
TOTAL 100 POINTS
14. The elimination round will be held on December 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Activity Area of Robinsons Ilocos Expansion Building.
15. The groups that will garner the 7 highest scores in the elimination round will advance to the finals on December 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM at the F. E. Marcos Mini-Cultural and Sports Center, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.
16. The finalists may or may not utilize the piece they performed during the elimination round.
17. For the finals, the groups that will garner the top 3 highest scores will be awarded as the top 3 winners.
18. In case of a tie, the judges will determine the team who will advance or win.
19. Prizes (Finals):
Champion: P10k Cash, Trophy & Certificate
1st Runner-up: P7k Cash, Trophy & Certificate
2nd Runner-up: P5k Cash, Trophy & Certificate
Consolation prizes:P3k Cash, Trophy Certificate.
20. All participants should always observe discipline and good sportsmanship at all times.
21. Registration in this competition signifies that registrants agree to the rules and guidelines for this competition as set forth by the organizers.
22. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
