On Aug. 14, Consul & Head of Post Li Xiaoyan of Chinese Consulate in Laoag met with Congressman Angelo Marcos Barba in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.

Consul Li expressed her gratitude to Cong. Barba for his longstanding support for the consulate's work and his care for local exchanges and cooperation between China and the Philippines. She welcomed Cong. Barba to lead more congressmen and congresswomen from the Northern Luzon region to visit various parts of China, so as to cement the traditional friendship between the two countries through friendly cooperation.

Cong. Barba shared his recent visit to China, speaking highly of China's development achievements in areas such as artificial intelligence, agricultural modernization, and infrastructure construction. He expressed his willingness to continue close collaboration with the consulate to promote exchanges and cooperation between Ilocos Norte and even the entire Northern Luzon and Chinese provincial and municipal counterparts, and looked forward to more opportunities to visit different places across China.

On Aug. 11, Consul & Head of Post Li Xiaoyan of Chinese Consulate in Laoag met with Mayor Bonoan of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

Mayor Bonoan recently shared his experience from a visit to China's , expressing high praise for China's development accomplishments. He stated his willingness to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as agricultural technology training to help boost local farmers' production and income.

Consul Li remarked that the Consulate stands ready to work with the municipal government to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between China and the Philippines at sub-national levels in various fields. She welcomed the Mayor and municipal officials to visit more places across China to see for themselves the unique appeal of Chinese-style modernization.

Ablan Sr., the Philippine WWII hero against Japanese invaders, with Secretary of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development Arsenio M. Balisacan, Gov. Cecilia Araneta Marcos and Laoag City Mayor James Bryan Alcid.
