Bringing Hope to Remote Communities: Mayor Anjo Miro Leads the Turnover of Center Cars and Grocery Packs in Celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026

📍 Sitio Barayong, Brgy. Dalena and Sitio Surut-Surut, Brgy. San Vicente, San Pablo, Isabela

In line with the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, Mayor Antonio Jose “Anjo” T. Miro III, together with Vice Mayor Antonio “Jojo” N. Miro, Jr. and Municipal Administrator Antonio Santiago “Joko” T. Miro, personally led the turnover of two (2) Center Cars and the distribution of grocery packs to residents of Sitio Barayong, Brgy. Dalena and Sitio Surut-Surut, Brgy. San Vicente, home to the municipality’s Aeta community.

The initiative reflects the Municipality of San Pablo’s commitment to uplifting the lives of residents in remote and geographically isolated areas. The Center Cars are intended to provide communities with reliable transportation that can be utilized during emergencies, including the transport of patients requiring urgent medical attention, disaster response operations, and evacuation during calamities.

Beyond emergency response, the Center Cars will also serve as an important community resource. Residents may use the vehicles to transport their agricultural produce to market, helping improve access to livelihood opportunities and increase household income. Likewise, the vehicles may be utilized to assist students in traveling to and from school, particularly in areas where transportation remains a challenge.

Alongside the turnover of the vehicles, grocery packs were distributed to families as additional assistance and support to help address their immediate needs.

The activity was joined by personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) led by MDRRM Officer Roseman B. Tumaliuan, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) led by OIC-MSWDO Rosito B. Bacud Jr., and the San Pablo Police Station led by PCPT Pedro M. Allam, demonstrating the Local Government Unit of San Pablo’s whole-of-government approach in delivering responsive, inclusive, and compassionate public service.

Through initiatives such as the Center Car Project, the Local Government Unit of San Pablo continues to strengthen community resilience, improve access to essential services, support local livelihoods, and ensure that even the most remote communities benefit from government programs and services, in line with this year’s NDRM theme, “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas.”
