Nagningning ang pangalan ng Lungsod ng San Pedro sa International Jiu-jitsu scene matapos masungkit ni Jah Rod Zion Lugtu ang GOLD MEDAL sa kanyang unang kompetisyon bilang miyembro ng National Team sa Jiu Jitsu Thailand Open Grand Prix 2026.

Lumahok si Lugtu sa Open-belt International Division, kung saan limang atleta ang naglaban sa round-robin format. Sa kabila ng matinding kompetisyon, ipinakita niya ang kahanga-hangang husay at determinasyon matapos tapusin ang lahat ng kanyang kalaban sa pamamagitan ng 100% submission.

Hindi lamang ang gintong medalya ang nagbigay-pugay sa kanyang husay, kundi pati na rin ang paraan ng kanyang pagkapanalo na isang patunay ng kanyang kahandaan, disiplina, at dedikasyon sa larangan ng jiu-jitsu.

Congratulations, Jah Rod Zion Lugtu! Ang iyong gintong medalya ay isang inspirasyon sa mga kabataang San Pedrense na nangangarap, nagsusumikap, at hindi sumusuko sa kanilang mga pangarap.

The DSWD Region IV-A (4Ps Office San Pedro) in cooperation with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) will conduct the Validation of Set 14 G and H Households and Initial Orientation for Potential Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Beneficiaries included in the official list on September 21 and 22, 2026 (Monday - Tuesday), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the San Pedro City Hall Lobby.

• Barangay Certificate of Residency/Indigency
• Birth Certificates of all household members

• Attendance at the validation does not mean that a household has already been approved or automatically qualified as a beneficiary of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). The purpose of the validation is to assess whether each household meets the eligibility criteria set by the DSWD and to ensure that all required documents are complete. An initial orientation will also be conducted to discuss the program, its conditions, and what applicants may expect during the process.

LOOK | The City Engineering Office spearheaded a declogging operation along the national highway as part of the City Government’s continuing efforts to maintain proper drainage and help prevent flooding.

The operation focused on clearing obstructions and accumulated debris from drainage canals to ensure the continuous flow of water, especially during heavy rainfall.

The public is encouraged to help maintain clean waterways and avoid disposing of garbage in drainage systems. Keeping our drainage clear is a shared responsibility toward a safer and more resilient community.

| School Safety Evaluation conducted in the City of San Pedro to Strengthen Lockdown Preparedness

EVERY SECOND MATTERS!!!

Through the best efforts of the PNP San Pedro Component City Police Station, in cooperation with the San Pedro Laguna FS (BFP San Pedro) and the City of San Pedro DRRMO, a school safety evaluation focusing on the proper implementation of lockdown procedures during an active shooter incident was conducted at San Pedro Central Elementary School on September 3, 2026 (Thursday).

The evaluation aimed to assess the preparedness and response of teachers and school personnel in protecting students during a serious emergency. It focused on their ability to immediately recognize an emergency, initiate the appropriate lockdown procedure, secure classroom doors and windows, keep students in a safe and secure area, maintain silence and calm, and account for students when it is safe to do so.

Particular attention was also given to the ability of school personnel to assist students with special needs and follow established communication and emergency procedures.

The concerned agencies likewise assessed the school's coordination and communication, response time, classroom security, student accountability, familiarity with designated safe areas and evacuation routes, and the proper implementation of its Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).

A serious reminder to all, school safety is a shared responsibility. These evaluations are conducted to strengthen preparedness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that teachers and responders are ready to protect students during emergencies.

Let us all take this seriously, support our teachers and responders, and work together to ensure that our children are safe and that everyone is prepared to act when it matters most.
