The NIA Pampanga-Bataan IMO turned over the Tubo-Tubo Solar-Powered Pump Irrigation Project in Pag-asa, Dinalupihan, Bataan, on October 22, 2026.

Led by Bataan Satellite Office Head Engr. Avelino C. Sazon, together with Engineering Acting Chief Engr. Jhon Ray A. David, IDU Head Ms. Reyna S. Sabado, the ceremony was attended by NIA personnel, local officials, and representatives from the Municipal Agriculture Office. Mr. Luis A. Paule, Chairman of Pansansalucom IA Inc. and President of the Bataan Provincial Federation of Irrigators Association, formally accepted the project on behalf of the farmers.

Buong suporta ang NIA Pampanga-Bataan IMO, sa pangunguna ni Division Manager Engr. Ruben R. Llamas, katuwang si O&M PGRIS Acting Chief Engr. Angelito D. David, sa pagsusulong ng programang Gulayan sa Patubigan kasama ang Valdez, Pulungmasle, Talang, Maquiapo (VPTM) Irrigators’ Association (IA), San Roque Floridablanca Farmers IA, at Samahang Magpapatubig ng San Pedro sa Floridablanca, Pampanga.

Sa ilalim ng programang inilunsad ni NIA Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen, hinihikayat ang pagtatanim ng gulay, kapaki-pakinabang na paggamit ng mga bakanteng espasyo, at pagtutulungan ng NIA at mga IAs upang mapalakas ang kabuhayan at mapabuti ang kapakanan ng mga magsasaka.

The NIA – Zambales IMO inspected irrigation structures within the Upper Bagsit River Irrigation System (RIS) to assess their condition and ensure efficient water delivery in preparation for the upcoming First Dry Cropping Season.

The activity was led by O&M Acting Chief Engr. John Linton L. Ponio, together with Mr. Eranio A. Mojica, Chairman of the 1st Damayan Irrigators Association (IA).

The NIA - Zambales IMO conducted an inspection and validation of non-operational areas within the Upper Bagsit River Irrigation System (RIS) to identify priority areas for restoration.

During the activity, O&M Acting Chief Engr. John Linton L. Ponio coordinated with Mr. Melchor R. Antolin, Chairman of the Buwat Nin Bagatan Irrigators Association (IA), to validate the locations of unlined canals and non-operational areas.

The activity aims to establish the actual field conditions and identify priority areas for restoration, paving the way for improved irrigation water delivery and more efficient utilization of irrigation facilities.

The NIA Pampanga-Bataan Irrigation Management Office, led by IMO Manager Engr. Ruben R. Llamas, inspected solar-powered pump irrigation projects in Bataan with Engineering Section Acting Chief Engr. Jhon Ray A. David and Bataan Satellite Office Acting Head Engr. Avelino C. Sazon.

The team also met with Mr. Luis Paule, President of the Bataan Federation of Irrigators Associations, to assess the projects’ current condition and ensure continued irrigation support for farmers, particularly amid El Niño.

Strengthening collaboration among irrigation stakeholders and preparing for the challenges of the new cropping season, the NIA - Zambales IMO, led by Acting IMO Manager Engr. Wendell C. Martin, conducted a System Management Committee Meeting on October 19, 2026, in Botolan, Zambales.

The meeting brought together representatives from four Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) Federations under the Nayom-Bayto, Bucao, Upper Bagsit, and Sto. Tomas River Irrigation Systems (RIS). Present as well are the partner government agencies including the National Food Authority (NFA)–Zambales Warehousing Unit, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)–Zambales Satellite Office.

This event was also to discuss agricultural support programs, water delivery schedules, and measures to mitigate the anticipated effects of Super El Niño. The activity also emphasized the IAs’ responsibilities in the operation and maintenance of irrigation facilities, including regular canal clearing and maintenance.

To monitor the progress of the CY 2026 irrigation project and ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards, the National Irrigation Administration - Aurora-Nueva Ecija Irrigation Management Office conducted a site inspection of the Bulalakay Upstream Communal Irrigation System (CIS) in Rizal, Nueva Ecija, on October 20, 2026.

Led by Engr. Kimberly B. Dayag, Acting Chief of the Engineering Section, the activity goals to delivering quality irrigation infrastructure that improves water availability, supports local farmers, and promotes sustainable agricultural development.
