The Municipality of San Remigio, through the efforts of the Municipal Youth Development Office, has taken an important first step toward realizing its goal of bringing together coaches, mentors, sports enthusiasts, and other stakeholders in one venue for meaningful consultation and dialogue on sports development concerns.

Under the direction of Hon. Mariano Martinez, the Municipality emphasized the importance of establishing a Sports Development Council through the formulation and passage of an appropriate policy or ordinance that will institutionalize and strengthen sports development initiatives in the municipality.

Among the key agenda discussed during the consultative meeting were the possible reactivation of sports clubs and associations, updates and preparations for the Governor’s Cup 2026, and potential areas of collaboration for upcoming sporting events and activities.

This gathering marks more than just a meeting—it is a step toward building a more organized, inclusive, and sustainable sports development system for San Remigio.

𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗥𝗬-𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗢 𝗪𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗨-𝟭𝟴 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗚𝗢𝗩’𝗦 𝗖𝗨𝗣

We are inviting all kabataang San Remigiohanons under-18 players to join with our official Basketball try-out for Gov’s Cup 2026.

All players shall bring with them the following requirements during the try-out (if possible):

𝟭. 𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥𝗦

1.1. All players must be eighteen (18) years old and younger, specifically those born on or after January 1, 2008

1.2. All players must be registered voters of the LGU that he is playing for on or before January 1, 2026 to be proven by submitting a copy of their voter’s certification from the COMELEC;

If the player is still a minor upon the deadline of submission of requirements, the player must present a copy of either of his parents’ voters’ certificates and should be registered in the LGU on or before January 1, 2026.

For players below eighteen (18) years old, once a player has played for a municipality, he shall be permanently affiliated with that municipality and shall not be allowed to represent or transfer to any other municipality in succeeding tournaments.

1.3. Players must be physically fit to be proven by submitting a copy of their medical clearance, remarked “Fit to Play” by a physician.

1.4. One (1) entry per division per municipality;

1.5. Active high school and/or college varsity players (CESAFI, NCAA, UAAP), Semi-Pro and Pro (PBA, VISMIN CUP, NBL, MPBL, PSL, D-LEAGUE, ABL) shall NOT be ALLOWED to play.

𝟮. 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦

2.1 Voter’s Certification issued by COMELEC (latest) for players who are 18 years old. For players who are not yet registered voters, the following documents shall be accepted in lieu of the player’s Voter’s Certification:
a. Parent’s Voter’s Certification issued by the COMELEC;
b. Barangay Certificate of Residency of the player;
c. PSA Birth Certification; and d. School Record (Form 137 or Transcript of Records), if
applicable.

2.2 Individual picture of the players, coach, assistant coach and team manager, utility and statistician – 2 x 2 sizes. If the player cannot submit the ID picture at a
given time, the said player cannot play during the tournament period;

2.3 Players must personally appear during the screening schedule, otherwise the said player cannot play during the tournament and cannot be replaced anymore.

2.5. Duly signed Player’s Waiver Form

“Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”

The Municipality of San Remigio, through its Youth Development Office, joins the nation and the global community in celebrating International Youth Day 2026 this August 12, anchored on this year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”

In celebration of this significant occasion, around 200 young San Remigiohanons from across the municipality gathered last August 6–8, 2026 for the Bagani: San Remigio Youth Leaders Camp 2026 held at Orongan Beach Resort.

The three-day youth camp served as an avenue for young people to discover and strengthen their potentials through various challenges, leadership activities, and team-building exercises that encouraged them to engage, coordinate, communicate, and work together with their fellow youth.

This year’s camp concept was inspired by the word “Bagani,” traditionally associated with a warrior and protector—someone who embodies courage, strength, responsibility, and leadership within the community. Through this concept, the participants were organized into six major tribes, each representing different environments and identities:
🌊 LAOT
🌳 GUBAT
🏜️ DISYERTO
🛍️ KALAKAL
⛰️ BUNDOK
🌾 PATAG

Each tribe established its own campsite, complete with a camp gate, tribe flag, and collaborative space, creating an environment where participants could express their creativity, build camaraderie, and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Beyond the competitions and challenges, Bagani 2026 was a celebration of unity, leadership, friendship, and the diverse experiences of the youth.
We may come from different barangays. We may have different stories, dreams, struggles, and perspectives. We may live in different contexts—but when we come together, we discover that our aspirations are not so different after all.

We share one vision.

A generation of young people who are empowered, engaged, and ready to take their place in nation-building.

Indeed, it was another meaningful celebration of coming together as ONE YOUTH OF SAN REMIGIO.
Different tribes.
Different stories.
Different contexts.

But ONE common aspiration: YOUTH IN NATION-BUILDING.

We are inviting all sports coaches, mentors, trainers, and other sports stakeholders to attend our Sports Development Consultative Meeting on:

This meeting will serve as a consultative and partners’ stakeholder meeting in preparation for the proposed creation of the Municipal Sports Development Council.

It will also provide an avenue for us to engage in a meaningful discussion on our current sports development concerns, priorities, programs, and possible areas of collaboration toward strengthening sports development in our municipality.
Your experience, insights, and recommendations are valuable in helping us build a more inclusive, organized, and sustainable sports development program for our athletes and the community.
