MATAGUMPAY NA PANTAWID PAMILYANG PILIPINO PROGRAM GRADUATION CEREMONY SA STA. BARBARA

Alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures will be implemented in all public and private educational institutions in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 15 provinces on Friday, September 4, amid anticipated continued heavy rainfall.

In NCR, the measure also comes amid poor air quality caused by haze from forest and peatland fires in Indonesia.

The directive was contained in Memorandum Circular No. 134, signed Friday by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The measure covers:

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧

𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐫

𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚
𝐂𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞
𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐚
𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬
𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐨

The circular cited the anticipated continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon and the poor air quality currently being experienced in NCR due to haze from severe forest and peatland fires in Kalimantan and Sumatra, Indonesia.

Local chief executives may also order the cancellation or suspension of classes in their respective areas, pursuant to existing laws, rules and regulations.

The circular takes effect immediately.
