The Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH WV CHD), through its Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU), in collaboration with the Field Health Services Information System (FHSIS) Team and Provincial Health Office (PHO) Antique successfully conducted an iClinicSys training for healthcare workers at the Sibalom Primary Care Facility (PCF). The training equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively use the iClinicSys electronic medical record system, supporting improved patient data management and enhancing the delivery of primary healthcare services.

The Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH WV CHD), through its Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU), successfully conducted the Bi-Annual ICTU Coordination Meeting with CHD Units on July 6, 2026. The activity brought together representatives from various CHD units to strengthen collaboration, enhance digital competencies, and support the implementation of ICT initiatives across the organization.

The meeting served as a venue for sharing updates on key ICT systems and services. ICTU personnel presented the guidelines on the use of the Electronic Mail (Email) Service, discussed the draft guidelines and demonstrated the navigation of the Support and Technical Assistance Request Tracking (START) System, provided updates on the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), conducted a navigation and orientation on the Logistics Management Information System (LMIS), and introduced the Standardized Platform for Accessing Resources and Knowledge (SPARK).

The activity highlighted ICTU's commitment to strengthening digital governance, promoting standardized ICT practices, and empowering CHD personnel through the effective use of information systems in support of efficient and responsive health service delivery.

The Department of Health (DOH) Western Visayas Center for Health Development (CHD), through its Information and Communications Technology Unit (ICTU), in collaboration with the DOH Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service (KMITS), the National Telehealth Center (NTHC), and the Aklan Provincial Health Office (PHO), successfully conducted the Connectathon on Local Health Information Exchange (LHIE) and eReferral in the Province of Aklan from June 22โ€“26, 2026.

The five-day activity gathered health information system developers, implementers, and healthcare stakeholders to test, validate, and strengthen interoperability among health information systems using the national standards for Local Health Information Exchange (LHIE) and the Philippine eReferral framework. Through collaborative system integration, interoperability testing, and issue resolution, participants worked toward ensuring the secure and seamless exchange of patient health information across healthcare facilities.

On June 2, 2026, the DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development (CHD), through the Regional Office Digital Health Technical Implementation and Monitoring Team (RODHTIMT), conducted onsite assessment, validation, and monitoring activities at Buenavista Emergency Hospital in Guimaras and Lapuz District Health Center in Iloilo City.

The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Guimaras Provincial Health Office (PHO), Guimaras Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), Iloilo City Health Office (CHO), and Iloilo City DOH Office (CDOHO). It served as an opportunity to evaluate the implementation and utilization of digital health systems, engage with healthcare personnel, and identify areas for continuous improvement in health information management.

The DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development - Regional Office Digital Health Technical Implementation and Monitoring Team (RODHTIMT), in collaboration with the Iloilo Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Iloilo Provincial DOH Office (PDOHO), conducted onsite assessment, validation, and monitoring visits in selected health facilities across Iloilo Province from May 19-21, 2026.

Using the Functional Electronic Medical Record Assessment Compliance Evaluation (FEMRACE) Tool, the team evaluated the implementation, utilization, and compliance of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems with digital health standards, identified areas for improvement, and provided technical recommendations to enhance health information management and service delivery.
