🌿🥗 Nutrition Month 2026 Celebration 🥗🌿
In celebration of Nutrition Month 2026, the DepEd Lamesa Elementary School – Santa Cruz, Marinduque community proudly joined the nationwide campaign guided by the theme:
"Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!"
and the 2026 subtheme:
"Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan."
This year's celebration served as a meaningful reminder that proper nutrition and environmental stewardship go hand in hand in nurturing healthier learners, stronger families, and more resilient communities.
Learners and teachers actively participated in various engaging and educational activities that promoted health, wellness, teamwork, and nutrition awareness. Among the highlights were vibrant dance presentations that reflected the learners' creativity, enthusiasm, and support for the Nutrition Month advocacy.
In support of the campaign and in strict adherence to DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026, Nutrition Month concepts were seamlessly integrated into regular classroom instruction, ensuring that instructional time was not disrupted. Under the guidance of Teacher Luzviminda R. Del Mundo, Grade 6 learners integrated their Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) lesson through the preparation of a nutritious lunch menu, while Grade 4 learners applied the concepts of Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) by preparing healthy and innovative snacks such as papaya fries and carrot fries. These experiential learning activities enabled learners to apply classroom concepts in food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and healthy eating while developing practical life skills.
Following the classroom cooking activities, the prepared meals were enjoyed by the learners during the scheduled lunch break, reinforcing the values of healthy eating, gratitude, cooperation, and sharing in a meaningful learning environment.
Another memorable highlight of the celebration was the communal lunch, where learners shared their home-prepared packed lunches in a simple yet meaningful boodle-style gathering that strengthened camaraderie, unity, and appreciation for nutritious meals.
Further enriching the celebration, our dedicated Teachers prepared a variety of nutritious dishes using fresh vegetables harvested from the school's vegetable garden and fish from the school's fish pond. This initiative highlighted the value of sustainable food production, food security, responsible environmental stewardship, and the utilization of locally available resources in promoting healthy and nutritious meals.
Through these meaningful, curriculum-integrated activities, DepEd Lamesa Elementary School – Santa Cruz, Marinduque reaffirmed its commitment to advancing nutrition education, environmental responsibility, and the holistic development of every learner while ensuring that all activities complemented the delivery of quality, accessible, relevant, and inclusive basic education.
Together, let us continue to nurture healthy minds, healthy bodies, and a healthy environment—because good nutrition is everyone's responsibility.
