FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – A 19-man foyer honors was rendered to Gen Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr AFP, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) during his visit to this Command held at Headquarters, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division this morning, February 16, 2015, (Monday).
CSAFP was received by Major General Glorioso V Miranda, Commander, 7ID PA. Gen Catapang was accompanied by RADM Antonio A Habulan JR, AFP (J1), MGen Virgilio A Hernandez, AFP (J2), BGen Angelito M De Leon, AFP (J3), MGen Victor V Bayani AFP (J4), BGen Richard Q Lagrana AFP (J7), BGen Joselito E Kakilala AFP (Chief, CRSAFP) and Col Gabriel C Viray III PA (Chief, AFPPDC).
Following the foyer honor, a brief conference was held at the office of the Commander 7ID together with the J Staffs, Commander 7ID, COMNOLCOM, and SOCOM Commander and other officers.
Afterwards, CSAFP and party then proceeded to 7ID Sports Complex for the blessing of 7ID Basketball Court and for the Awarding Ceremony for deserving officers and enlisted personnel of this Command followed by “Talk to Men” which was attended by personnel of 7ID, Post and Tenant Units of Fort Magsaysay.
CSAFP also visited and inspected the Bamboo Nursery and Plantation Project of 7ID located along Cordero Dam.
In the message of CSAFP during the “Talk to Men” to the 7ID Troops he said that its always good to be back in the Command which played a big part of his military career. He also commended the deserving Officer and Enlisted Personnel which was awarded of Military Merit Medal. CSAFP also emphasized that rumors and hear says on the incident happened in Mamasapano causing the death of SAF-44 should be ignored since the National Headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has already initiated a Board of Inquiry to look thoroughly into these very unfortunate incident. He ended his message by emphasizing to every Kaugnay Troopers to remain focused in their job and professional.
