September 1, 2026

The Municipality of Sta. Rita underwent the scrutinous Regional Local Governance Champion Onsite Assessment, conducted by the DILG Samar Provincial Office Assessment Team headed by Cluster Head Carolina O. Ampong.

The activity was actively participated in by Municipal Mayor Jascha Mae R. Tiu, Sangguniang Bayan Members, LGU functionaries, key personnel and representatives from National Government Agencies (NGAs).

To evaluate the LGU's overall performance, administrative efficiency, and service delivery across 10 key governance areas, the assessment team conducted:

Documentary Review: Thorough evaluation of official records and compliance documents.

Key Interviews: Engaging LGU functionaries and stakeholders to gauge operational effectiveness.

Onsite Inspection: Physical validation and facility tour covering 3 selected governance areas.

This assessment underscores Sta. Rita's continued dedication to transparency, accountability, and exemplary public service for every Santaritanhon.

Congratulations to the 8 barangays of our municipality for successfully passing the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB)!

These barangays successfully navigated a rigorous evaluation of their FY 2024 performance, demonstrating exemplary standards across all Core and Essential Governance areas. Out of 38 barangays, the following communities set the standard for transparency, integrity, and public service delivery; to wit,

Our deepest gratitude goes to our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jascha Mae R. Tiu, for her unwavering support throughout the assessment process. We commend the Punong Barangays, Barangay Officials and Barangay Secretaries who worked tirelessly together to ensure full compliance and complete documentation.

The Office of DILG-Sta. Rita, Samar expresses its deepest condolences and joins the family, friends, and colleagues in mourning the passing of our former Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), Ma'am Lucita S. Sabarre.

Ma'am Lucita, or "Ma'am Chi" as she is fondly called by those who knew and worked with her, dedicated years of exemplary public service to the people of Sta. Rita. She guided our local government units and barangays with unwavering integrity, passion, and commitment.

Amidst the workloads and demands of public service, Ma'am Chi always showed up with an inspiring, positive spirit and an elegant grace that never wavered. Her exceptional leadership, warmth, and dignified presence left an indelible mark on our community and the entire DILG family.

We honor her memory, celebrate her beautiful life, and carry forward the legacy of public service she leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Ma'am Chi. You will be dearly missed. ๐Ÿ™โœจ
