HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Prior to 1986, there existed only one Santa Rosa Elementary School with school buildings located in three separate sites. Batilando as District Supervisor, Santa Rosa Elementary School was divided into two: Central I and Central II. This was due to a rapid increase in enrollment and to facilitate school monitoring. Hence, Santa Rosa Elementary School Central II (SRES II) was
officially born in the school year 1986-1987. During its first year of existence, SRES II had only 21 teachers and nearly a thousand pupils. The school buildings were dilapidated and made of light materials. Dedicatoria was appointed as the first Principal of SRES II until she decided to base abroad to join her family. Ong-iko replaced Mrs. Dedicatoria but in less than two years, she was transferred due to promotion. Alberto L. Agustin succeeded Dr. Ong-iko. He served SRES II for two years until his retirement from service on December 05, 1995. Dr. Manuel B. Valdez became the next Principal for more than a year before he transferred due to promotion. Carmelita B. Alviar served as the fifth principal for almost a decade before she was promoted as District Supervisor of the City Division of Santa Rosa on September 11, 2006, and was succeeded by Dr. Imelda P. Licmo, By then, Santa Rosa Elementary School Central II has immensely grown with 52 teachers and approximately 2,500 pupils. There are three-storey and two- storey school buildings made of concrete materials and equipped with modern facilities Ms. Emerly Bungalon succeded as the new principal upon the retirement of Dr. Licmo in 2013. She led the now 55 teachers. Under her purpose-driven leadership, SRES Central II will continue to serve as a light-house that guides its pupils and will continue to serve the people of the City of Santa Rosa. She retired from service in September of 2017 and was replaced by Mr. Ronaldo G. Principal Cambel’s vision is now serving as the compass with which the school is taking into a new direction and new heights. His process-oriented leadership is now gearing the school to overcome any obstacles that are coming on its way.
