The City Government of Santiago, through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), actively participated in the Subaybay Bata Report Consultation and Media Empowerment Guide Consultation for Region II held on July 28โ30, 2026 at Go Hotels Plus, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The three-day consultation gathered stakeholders from across the region to enhance the implementation of the Subaybay Bata Monitoring System, improve child-focused reporting mechanisms, and develop a Media Empowerment Guide that champions responsible, child-sensitive, and rights-based communication.
Representing the City of Santiago were Ashly Nicole B. Velasquez, Division Federation Supreme Secondary Learner Government (DFSSLG) President and School-Based LCPC Child Representative, and Samantha Marie M. Cabasis, Division Federation Batang Kabataan Kontra Droga (DFBKB) Vice President and Community-Based LCPC Child Representative. They were accompanied by Ms. Majielyn Barrera of the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and Ms. Myla Alberto of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), who served as their guardians throughout the activity.
This participation reflects the City's continuing commitment to empowering children and youth, strengthening child participation, and fostering collaborative efforts that safeguard and promote the rights and well-being of every Santiagueรฑo child.
