**LUNGSOD NG SANTIAGO** — Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking , nagsagawa ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Santiago ng komprehensibong Drug-Free Workplace Orientation at drug testing para sa lahat ng empleyado nito sa Bulwagan ng Mamamayan, City Hall Complex nitong Hunyo 17-18, 2026.

Sa pamumuno ng Punong Lungsod at City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Chairman Atty. Sheena Tan, naging matagumpay ang kolaborasyon upang isulong ang isang ligtas at malusog na kapaligiran sa trabaho. Pinangunahan ito ng Santiago City Anti-Drug Abuse Office, sa pamamagitan ni Dr. Robelyn D. Go - City Health Officer at Focal Person ng nasabing tanggapan, at ang Human Resource Management Office sa ilalim ni HRM Officer May Anthonette L. Bahom. Binantayan at ginabayan din ang nasabing aktibidad ng PDEA R02 Quirino - Santiago Provincial Office sa pangunguna ni Provincial Officer IA V Armenio V. Gaudia.

Ang mga opisyales ng PDEA R02 ang mismong nagsagawa ng mga lecture patungkol sa mapaninsalang epekto ng ilegal na droga at sa mga probisyon ng Republic Act No. 9165. Matapos ang mga lecture, aktibong nakilahok ang mga empleyado sa drug testing upang matiyak ang integridad at ang mahigpit na pagsunod sa City Ordinance No. 11THCC-033, isang lokal na polisiya na nagtatatag ng drug-free workplace sa pamahalaang lungsod at nagpapataw ng parusa sa mga lalabag dito.

Layunin ng proaktibong hakbang na ito na palakasin ang kultura ng pananagutan, integridad, at pagpapahalaga sa kalusugan ng mga kawani. Ipinapakita rin nito ang pangako ng pamahalaang lungsod na iwasan at kontrolin ang pag-abuso sa droga sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na edukasyon at kamalayan.

SANTIAGO CITY STRENGTHENS GRASSROOTS ANTI-DRUG CAMPAIGN THROUGH 3-DAY BADAC CAPABILITY ENHANCEMENT INITIATIVE

SANTIAGO CITY — In a continuous effort to fortify community-level defenses against illicit substances, Barangay Anti - Drug Abuse Councils (BADAC) convened at the B.O.S.S Function Hall from June 2 to 4, 2026, for the "Barangay Kontra Droga: Capability Enhancement and Comprehensive Intervention Initiative for BADACs."

The comprehensive three-day program aimed to systematically shift the grassroots approach toward structured intervention planning as a primary community defense mechanism, rather than relying predominantly on individual counseling.
The entire capacity-building initiative was expertly facilitated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 02. The program delivered high-level instruction to key community figures, including Punong Barangays, BADAC Focal Persons, Kagawads on Peace and Order, and Barangay Secretaries.

Throughout the initiative, participants engaged in a highly structured program designed to empower the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADAC):
• Training of Trainers (TOT): Select officials underwent specialized training to become effective local lecturers, preparing them to spearhead anti-drug abuse advocacies within their respective jurisdictions.
• Strategic Action Planning: Participants received comprehensive education on the national and local drug situations, as well as the physiological and social ill-effects of dangerous drugs, which culminated in a hands-on Barangay Anti-Drug Plan of Action (BADPA) writeshop.
• Institutional Policy Implementation: The activity concluded with a critical orientation for Punong Barangays, establishing the necessary protocols and guidelines for declaring and maintaining a strictly Drug-Free Workplace within barangay halls.

Through the collaborative efforts of the Santiago City Anti-Drug Abuse Office (SCADAO) and PDEA R02, local leaders are now better equipped with actionable intelligence and robust intervention skills, ensuring a unified and proactive response toward a drug-free Santiago City.

SAYAWIT KONTRA DROGA 2025
In celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week

The Santiago City Anti-Drug Abuse Office, under the leadership of City Mayor Atty. Alyssa Sheena P. Tan, successfully held the Sayawit Kontra Droga competition on November 28, 2025 at the Bulwagan ng Mamamayan, Santiago City.

Learners from across Santiago City showcased their talent and advocacy spirit as they represented their respective Barkada Kontra Bisyo groups and school performing ensembles. Their performances highlighted creativity, unity, and a strong stand against illegal drugs.

The celebration also featured the DAPC Week 2025 Pledge of Commitment, led by Councilor Anton Phoenix Abaya, and an informative lecture on the Illicit Effects of Illegal Drugs delivered by PDEA ROII Quirino - Isabela PO.
