ππ± Coastal Cleanup Drive, Tree Planting & Environmental Education π±π
June 20,2026
In celebration of World Environment Day, World Oceans Day and the 2nd Quarter Municipal-Wide Cleanup Drive, a successful Coastal Cleanup Drive was conducted along the coastal areas from Barangay Calay-ab, Sived and Casili
This meaningful initiative brought together Municipal Officials and Employees, the PNP, BFP, Fatima Cooperative, Barangay Officials, and our valued partner, the Ilocos Sur Medical Society, united in the shared mission of protecting our coastal environment and promoting environmental stewardship.
After the cleanup drive, an environmental orientation and lecture were conducted for the teachers and students of Sived Elementary School, highlighting the proper way of planting trees and the importance of trees in conserving biodiversity, improving air quality, preventing soil erosion, and creating a healthier environment for present and future generations.
To further strengthen environmental conservation efforts, the Ilocos Sur Medical Society, together with the students of Sived Elementary School, also conducted a tree-planting activity within the school vicinity, planting fruit-bearing and forest tree seedlings to promote a greener campus, enhance biodiversity, and inspire the youth to become responsible stewards of the environment.
Together, through collaboration, education, and action, we continue to protect our coasts, nurture our forests, and build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. Every cleanup counts, every tree matters, and every individual can make a difference. ππ³β»οΈπ
