READ THIS: Police Regional Office 12 Supports the Regulated Use of Firecrackers and Pyrotechnics Nationwide

PRO 12 the Executive Order (EO) No. 28, also known as “Providing For The Regulation and Control of the Use of Firecrackers And Other Pyrotechnic Devices,” signed by Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

EO 28 bans individuals from using firecrackers or setting up their own fireworks displays, a cultural tradition Filipinos are accustomed to during “events of personal, religious, cultural and national importance,” especially during New Year’s Eve or even Chinese New Year.

On the same EO, the Chief PNP was authorized to determine what constitutes prohibited firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.

EO 28 also allows the PNP to promulgate rules necessary to regulate and control the use of firecrackers.
