The Municipality of Sto. Tomas proudly congratulates Barangay Moras Dela Paz, Barangay San Vicente, and Barangay Poblacion for being recognized as awardees under the B.E.S.T Barangay 2025 of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Out of 505 barangays in Pampanga, only 13 received this prestigious recognition, and we are proud that three (3) barangays from Sto. Tomas are among the awardees.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our Barangay Officials and stakeholders in promoting good governance and quality public service and the strong leadership of Hon. Johnny A. Sambo, Municipal Mayor of Sto. Tomas.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to DILG Regional Director Araceli A. San Jose, CESO III, and DILG Pampanga Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano, CESO V, for their continued guidance and support.

On July 23, 2026, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Municipality of Sto. Tomas, led by MLGOO Sheryl Ann Q. Dungca, conducted an orientation on the Safer School Zones (SSZ) under the Safer Cities and Safer Communities Initiative at the 3rd Floor Conference Room, Municipality of Sto. Tomas.

The activity was attended by Barangay Officials, Chief Tanods, School Principals, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO), as well as the Sangguniang Bayan Chairpersons of the Committee on Education and the Committee on Peace and Order.

The orientation emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among stakeholders in creating safe, secure, and child-friendly school environments. It also highlighted the shared responsibility of local government units, schools, and partner agencies in implementing proactive measures that promote the safety, protection, and well-being of all learners.

The Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA) Table Assessment was conducted on July 15, 2026, at the 3rd Floor Conference Room, Municipal Hall of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga.
