At the Hangaway kag Lin-ay sang Capiz Gastronomy Showcase, the Municipality of Sapian proudly took the spotlight as Hangaway Emmanuel and Lin-ay Mariel prepared and cooked their dish: 𝑳𝑨𝑺𝑾𝑨 — “𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆, 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚.”

Sinalay is Sapian’s very own smoked shrimp delicacy. Freshly harvested from salt waters, the shrimps are carefully placed above a “dapog” (traditional dirty kitchen) where burning wood produces rich, aromatic smoke. This slow smoking process preserves the shrimp and infuses it with a deep, distinct flavor — a time-honored method passed down through generations of Sapianons.

Paired with Laswa, the dish becomes a celebration of both sea and soil, highlighting Sapian’s agricultural abundance through fresh local ingredients:

The ceremonial sash was formally bestowed upon our candidates by Municipal Mayor 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐎ñ𝐚𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐯𝐚, LYDO-Designate 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐄𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐓. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧, and SK. Federation President of Sapian Hon. 𝐉𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐝 𝐎. 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨 — symbolizing the trust, support, and confidence of the local leadership in our youth representatives.

The event was also graced by the supportive SK Chairpersons and Councils from the different barangays of Sapian, whose presence reflected unity and collective pride for our candidates.

Although she was unable to attend the ceremony due to a conflict in schedule, our Municipal Tourism Officer 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐁𝐢ñ𝐚𝐬 extends her full support and encouragement to our Hangaway and Lin-ay representatives.

As they embraced their sashes, they also embraced the meaningful responsibility of representing the home of 𝑮𝒐𝒅-𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 — 𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐀𝐍. May we continue to rally behind them as they carry the pride, heart, and honor of Sapian onto the provincial stage. 💙✨

The official representatives of the Municipality of Sapian for Hangaway kag Lin-ay sang Capiz 2026, 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒍 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒛𝒛𝒂 𝑶. 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒓𝒂 (Lin-ay) and 𝑬𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑸𝒖𝒊𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒏 (Hangaway), both proud residents of Brgy. Agtatacay Sur, paid a courtesy call to Municipal Mayor 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑶. 𝑽𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒗𝒂, together with Tourism Officer 𝑴𝒔. 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒈𝒐 𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒂𝒏 2025 ✨

This year, we embraced the theme “𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝑫𝑮𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅,” bringing together the youth of Sapian in a day full of learning, connection, and fun.

We were honored by the message of our very active and supportive 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒓, 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒚. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑶ñ𝒂𝒔 𝑽𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒗𝒂, who reaffirmed his continuous support for the youth of Sapian. His commitment to raising the budget for youth programs is a clear testament to his dedication to creating more opportunities for the growth and empowerment of Sapian’s young generation. 🌱

The morning kicked off with the message from 𝑳𝒀𝑫𝑶 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒆, emphasizing that “𝑵𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅." This powerful statement set the tone for a day of inclusivity, growth, and action. 🌎

Afterwards, the Youth Forum led by dynamic speakers and moderators from 𝑱𝑪𝑰 𝑹𝒐𝒙𝒂𝒔 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒅𝒚𝒂, explored the power of local youth actions in creating change for the SDGs and beyond.

In the afternoon, we returned to our roots with Laro ng Lahi, enjoying traditional games that helped us disconnect from our screens and reconnect with each other. These games fostered teamwork, creativity, and physical well-being, while building stronger bonds within our community.

We were joined by 𝑺𝑲 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 from 10 different Barangays, as well as the 𝑺𝑺𝑳𝑮, 𝒀𝑬𝑺-𝑶, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝑲𝑫 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑺𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍—all coming together to create lasting change and unity.

This event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 and the 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒂𝒏 𝑭𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒂𝒏, who worked tirelessly to ensure its success. Their commitment to the youth is truly commendable.
