Menu for the day!
The conduct of ancestral domain visitation vis-a-vis updating and completion of the 11 Building Blocks and Burning issues of all ancestral domains is the serious top agenda for today's Staff Meeting at NCIP Davao Occidental Provincial Office led by Atty. Leonor T. Oralde-Quintayo,Provincial Officer. All ancestral domains are set on month of June for a marathon ancestral domain visitation contemplating connectivity with the ICCs/IPs and following the mandates of IPRA.

News Update: April 8, 2022

Community visitation was conducted last April 6-7, 2022 at four barangays of Sarangani by Ms. Shella Mae Tiawin, TAA II accompanied by Fulong Abednigo Tiawin, MTC/Mun. IPMR. IEC on the newly crafted Municipal IPMR Local Guidelines and community organizing of IP Women and IP Youth were among the agenda of the visit at Barangays Gomtago, Patuco, Tinina and Camahual, all of Sarangani, Davao Occidental. The team temporarily suspended visitation to other barangays due to the bad weather condition.

News Update: March 31, 2022

NCIP Davao Occidental Team facilitated Field-Based Validation activity for the DPWH and DSWD Projects to be implemented at Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental last March 23, 2022. The validation activity was in compliance to FPIC Guidelines to determine whether the concerned ICCs/IPs, in fact, voluntarily solicited or initiated and will accept the plans, program or projects to be undertaken. The activity was facilitated by Ms. Caroline C. Pascual, Sarangani CSC CDO III assisted by Atty. Belner D. Padawag, PLO IV, Bethel Joy S. Ricanor, TAA II, Ms. Shella Mae Tiawin, TAA II and Rene Jesto, Jr., PGO JO..The Blaan IPS accepted both the proposed DPWH and DSWD projects and.signed Resolution.of Consent.

News Update: March 31, 2022
Bringing closer the Regional Legal Office and Regional Hearing Office from Davao City to Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental....
A Legal Mission was rendered by Atty. Ariel Montaña, Regional Hearing Officer, Atty. Nicole Batingana, Regional Legal Officer and Atty. Belner Padawag, Provincial Legal Officer last March 23-24, 2022 at Brgy. Mabila, Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental. The Legal team catered legal consultations mostly pertaining on land matters.

News Update: March 31, 2022
NCIP Davao Occidental team facilitated crafting of the Municipal IPMR Local Guidelines at Sarangani, Davao Occidental last March 23-24, 2022. The activity was handled by Atty. Belner D. Padawag, Provincial Legal Officer by firstly presenting the National Guidelines on IPMR Selection Process. It was then followed by the crafting of their local guidelines for the municipal level assisted by Bethel Joy S. Ricanor, TAA II. Consequently, the IPS of Sarangani was able to finish the drafting and a signed new Municipal IPMR Local Guidelines was produced.

NEWS UPDATE: March 20, 2022

The Roll-out Vaccination Program for COVID-19 of the Department of Health is continuing in Sarangani Municipality with the support of its Rural Health Unit.

The RHU team was assisted by 922nd Marine Company Reserve troops participated by SGT Daisy Jean K Bucayan, Midwife II from NCIP Sarangani Service Center.

The team conducted a house to house vaccination for those individuals who are not yet vaccinated. The activity was done last March 12, 2022 at some sitios of Brgy. Patuco with the support of its Brgy. Officials.

There were 5 IPs got their vax shots from the team.

NEWS UPDATE: March 10, 2022

Women showed off empowerment by initiating a Tree Planting Activity...
In celebration of Womens' Month this March, Women from 922nd MCR of different units from Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental convened to plant more trees in riverbank areas in Barangay Konel, Sarangani last March 8, 2022.

The activity aimed to make the ancestral domain greener and restore the environment. It was also participated by different agencies such as MENRO, GAD , Maritime Police Precinct headed by PMSG Roger Agodania and Brgy. Capt. Marcial Bagtus with his council members. Barangay IPMR Fulong Benito Miguel and IP Elders also participated in the tree planting activity.

The activity showed that women are also partners and advocators in environmental protection and preservation.

NEWS UPDATE: March 5, 2022
Sarangani CSC is engaged in community health visits.

Ms. Daisy Jean Bucayan, Midwife II took an active interest in conducting community health visits at some sitios in Brgy. Tucal and Sitio Patoa, Brgy. Batuganding in Sarangani, Davao Occidental last March 3 and 4, 2022. Medicines for hypertension (Losartan & Amlodipine), vitamins for adults and children and other generic medicines were distributed to Blaan and Manobo ICCs/IPs. Other health services were also extended and children were given toys.
The undertaking was in coordination with the MDRRMO Staffs: Jade Tiawin, Dj Katiandagho, John Michael Samar and Brent Aguil. Special thanks to VM Boy Cawa and Mayor Virginia Cawa for providing truck with crude oil so that farflung areas were accessed.

NEWS UPDATE: February 19, 2022

Social Pension Payout in the municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental for the 1st Quarter of 2022 was assisted by NCIP Midwife II, Ms. Daisy Jean Bucayan. Most of the 1,407 Senior Citizen beneficiaries from the 12 barangays are Blaan ICCs/IPs. The program was done for the whole week of February 15 to 18, 2022. The disbursement was facilitated by DSWD XI with MSWD Sarangani led by Sir Chairly Cejas.
