This conference aims to advance the professional growth and technical competence of library and information science practitioners and future professionals across Western Visayas. It seeks to update participants on emerging trends, innovative practices, and evolving standards in library services, information management, and digital curation, while fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative networking among students, practicing librarians, educators, and industry stakeholders.

The event also addresses current challenges in the field, such as adapting to technological shifts, enhancing equitable information access, and promoting information literacy across diverse communities. Furthermore, it works to align regional library practices with national and global frameworks established by the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc., and prepares BLIS students to become competent, ethical, and proactive contributors to the development of the library and information science profession in the Philippines.

𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗟𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗺𝗼. This upcoming event will be held on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟵–𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻, 𝗚𝗲𝗻. 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁, 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆.

The preparation and meeting were highlighted for the orientation and training of the participants to ensure their full readiness. This activity aims to equip the students with the necessary knowledge and confidence to actively participate, learn, and effectively represent the institution during the conference.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 (𝘉𝘓𝘐𝘚) students actively participated in the 𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘤 1𝘴𝘵 𝘓𝘐𝘚 𝘚𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵 via Zoom, organized by the 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘐𝘯𝘤. (𝘗𝘓𝘈𝘐) in partnership with 𝘉𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘐𝘚 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴, held on 𝘈𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘭 15-16, 2026 at the 𝘉𝘶𝘭𝘚𝘜 𝘌-𝘓𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘴, 𝘉𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘯.

Carrying the theme "𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗. 𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗘. 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘.", the summit brought together LIS programs from across the Philippines. It served as a platform to empower librarians and transform communities through discussions on the future of academic libraries, strategic leadership, ethical practices, and the impact of AI and technology in the field. This seminar-workshop served as a vital platform for LIS educators and students to gather and exchange innovative ideas, highlighting the crucial role of libraries and information professionals in the digital age. It equipped participants with the knowledge to adapt academic libraries to rapid technological changes and introduced concepts on integrating Artificial Intelligence into services.

Attendees also learned effective leadership strategies, understood the importance of ethical standards, and explored ways to develop sustainable community engagement programs. Furthermore, the event strengthened professional networks and collaboration among institutions nationwide while providing practical skills in strategic planning. Ultimately, it inspired everyone to lead, innovate, and serve their communities more effectively.
