The University of Antique community is one with the whole nation in celebrating and commemorating the life, patriotism, and heroism of Andres Bonifacio, the Father of the Philippine Revolution and the Supremo of the Katipunan.

On his 162nd birth year, may we be reminded of Bonifacio’s steadfast love for our country and his sacrifices he made for his pursuit of a truly sovereign Philippines. May we carry forward his legacy through upholding and safeguarding the freedom and sovereignty that he courageously defended. 🇵🇭

University of Antique partners with Rappler for its initiative, a media and information literacy program which will be conducted every Friday, from January 20 to February 17, with the aim to gather teachers, students, and leaders in their respective sectors to learn and talk about how to be critical and discerning online.

The participants are expected to learn from speakers such as Rappler CEO and Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa, Rappler head of digital services Gemma Mendoza, Faktisk editor in chief Kristoffer Egeberg, Rappler researcher-writer Aila dela Cruz, Mona Magno Veluz (known on Tiktok as Mighty Magulang), World Bank consultant Bernice Soriano, and Rappler head of civic engagement Samantha Bagayas.

This initiative is through Rappler's civic engagement arm MovePH, and in partnership with 23 other schools and organizations in the Philippines.
