RMFB SEVEN Regional Public Safety Battalion 7 (RPSB 7) is the primary mobile/maneuver force of Police Regional Office 7.

As such and at a moment’s notice, it is expected by PRO7 Headquarters for it to augment and/or deploy required size of troop complement anywhere in the region, as has been done during Presidential visits in Cebu, Bohol and Oriental Negros. y known then as the Regional Special Action Force 7, with the Integrated National Police Field Force 7 as its counterpart on the Integrated National Police side. When the Philippine National Police came into being in 1991, it was renamed as Regional Mobile Force 7 and in 1998 as Regional Mobile Group 7. At present pursuant to NHQ-PNP Memorandum Circular 2009-020, PNP Mobile Groups have been rationalized and in lieu to same reference the RMGs has been renamed to Regional Public Safety Management Battalion. The force figured prominently as an anti-insurgency unit in the mid 1980s during the NPA SPARU operations in Metro Cebu by acting as holding/clearing unit along with the then Cebu Metropolitan District Command and the then Cebu Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police Command, through its different Company Headquarters and Detachments dispersed all over Metro Cebu and province. At present though, RPSMB7 has its Unit Headquarters at Brgy. Bahay, Sibonga, Cebu along with its RPSMvrCoy, the 1st RPSMvrCoy in Poblacion, Mabinay, Oriental Negros; the 2nd RPSMvrCoy in Brgy. Tunga, Moalboal, Cebu; the 3rd RPSMvrCoy in Brgy Zaragosa, Aloguinsah, Cebu and the 4th RPSMvrCoy in Catagbacan Norte, Loon, Bohol. On orders of RD, PRO 7 the 3rd RPSMvrCoy was moved to Brgy. Kampoot, Tuburan, Cebu in order to occupy its reservation area in the said locality, in conformity with Executive Order No. 546 directing the PNP to undertake active support to the AFP in internal security operations, with the view of conducting Police Community Relations/introduce livelihood projects and other ISO activities, for the good of the residents in the area, limited to and confined only within the said locality. And for the purpose of internal security operations, RPSMB7 has its implementing plan on PNP Master Plan Sandugo/Letter of Instructions Maagap. Over and above being the primary mobile/maneuver force of PRO 7 and its primary function in counter-insurgency/internal security operations, RPSMB7 is also tasked with the conduct of the Special Counter-Insurgency Operations Unit Training, for personnel assigned to the Unit, a requirement before they can be assigned to the different PPOs and CPOs of PRO7. A long line of illustrious Commanders have served the unit, most notable of which were then LTC IRVING MALUNDA who became Deputy Inspector General of IAS with the rank of Police Director, then LTC CONSTANTINO SAYSON, LTC APULEYO ORIAS, PSUPT CHARLES CALIMA, PSSUPT PEPITO BANZON, PSSUPT ROBERTO DESAMITO, PSSUPT PABLO FLORANTE LAMOSAO, PSSUPT EDUARDO CATABAS JR, who after their stint with the unit, became Provincial Commanders/Directors of different PPOs and CPOs of PRO 7, PCSUPT LANI-O R NEREZ, CSEE who received his star-rank after his term as GD and became the RD of PRO7, PSSUPT JESUS SUMAMPONG GAQUING SR who was later became the Chief RLD, PSSUPT REY LYNDON TOLEDO LAWAS who is now the Chief of is presently the Acting Chief, Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (R7), PSSUPT MARCIANO AGAS BATIANCELA JR., who is presently the Chief, Regional Headquarters and Services Group, PSSUPT LEOPOLDO ECHICA CABANAG who is presently the Chief Intel Division, Directorate for Intelligence Police Operation (DIPO) Visayas, and the present acting Battalion Commander, PSUPT CLIFFORD BAJARIAS GAIRANOD who exhibited his kindness and generosity through his major contribution for the significant development in this Battalion.
