A two-day pay-out activity for the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)โs Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program was successfully held on March 17 and 18, 2026, bringing much-needed financial assistance to a total of 2,495 beneficiaries in Silago. The assistance was extended to residents whose livelihoods were disrupted or displaced by the recent Typhoon Tino, which impacted the area and left many in need of emergency support.
The activity kicked off with a short opening program, graced by DOLE-SLFO TUPAD Program Focal ๐๐'๐๐ข ๐๐ก๐ค๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ฏ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ค, SB Member Committee Chairman on Labor Both Local and Overseas Employment ๐๐ค๐ฃ. ๐ผ๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ค ๐ผ. ๐๐๐ฉ๐ who also stood as the official representative of the Municipal Mayor ๐๐ค๐ฃ. ๐๐๐ข๐ช๐๐ก ๐. ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ค๐ง, and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager ๐๐ง. ๐ผ๐ง๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ช๐๐ ๐พ. ๐๐ค๐ข๐ค๐ก.
In his message delivered on behalf of the Mayor, Hon. Mate highlighted the core purpose of the TUPAD program in this context: to provide emergency employment and income relief to those affected by the typhoon. He also issued a heartfelt reminder to the beneficiaries: to use their received funds wisely and prioritize the essential needs of their families, ensuring that the government assistance serves its intended goal of uplifting household welfare amid the recovery period.
To accommodate the large number of recipients and ensure an organized, smooth distribution process, the pay-out was held in two separate venues. The first day of activities on March 17 was hosted at the Silago Municipal Auditorium, while the second day on March 18 moved to the Barangay Tubod Auditorium to cater to other eligible beneficiaries. PESO Office expressed their sincere gratitude to the ๐๐ช๐ฃ๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ฎ ๐ฟ๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ฎ ๐. ๐๐๐ข๐ of Tubod for graciously allowing the use of the barangay auditorium for the activity, as well as for the full support and assistance extended to the team throughout the event.
Joining the second dayโs activities to grace the occasion was DOLE SLFO Head ๐๐'๐๐ข ๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ ๐. ๐๐ค๐ก๐ค๐ฃ๐, whose presence underscored the agencyโs commitment to supporting the local communityโs recovery from the typhoonโs impact.

The successful conduct of the pay-out reflects the collaborative efforts of DOLE, the Silago Local Government Unit, and the PESO to deliver meaningful support to residents as they get back on their feet after Typhoon Tino.
