𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘-𝗦𝗟𝗙𝗢 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟰𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗦 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘆

The Department of Labor and Employment–Southern Leyte Field Office (DOLE-SLFO) successfully disbursed the remaining 40% of the SPES salary to 20 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Silago, Southern Leyte, on August 18, 2026, in Anahawan.

The remaining 40% of the beneficiaries’ SPES salary, representing DOLE’s counterpart share, was disbursed by 𝙎𝙋𝙀𝙎 𝙁𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙄𝙕𝙇𝙄𝙀 𝘼𝙉𝙉 𝙋. 𝙇𝘼𝘿𝙍𝙀𝙍𝘼, with the beneficiaries assisted by 𝙋𝙀𝙎𝙊 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙍𝘼𝘽𝙄𝙀 𝙎𝘼𝙐𝘿𝙄 𝘾. 𝙏𝙊𝙈𝙊𝙇.

The other 60% of the beneficiaries’ salaries was provided by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Silago. Through the support of 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙀𝙈𝙐𝙀𝙇 𝙋. 𝙃𝙊𝙉𝙊𝙍, the LGU also provided free transportation to the beneficiaries.

The successful disbursement marks the completion of the SPES wage assistance for the 20 beneficiaries, providing them with much-needed financial support for their educational needs.

The 3rd Quarterly Meeting of the Barangay Employment Service Officers (BESOs) was successfully conducted on August 15, 2026, at the Sap-ang Barangay Hall, Silago, Southern Leyte.

The meeting was presided over by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗹, 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘰 (𝘈𝘉𝘌𝘚𝘖𝘚), and attended by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼, 𝘉𝘌𝘚𝘖 𝘍𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 (𝘔𝘗𝘌𝘚𝘖).

The quarterly meeting provided an opportunity for the BESOs to discuss important employment-related concerns, share updates, strengthen coordination, and enhance the delivery of employment facilitation services in their respective barangays. It also served as a venue for sharing experiences and identifying ways to further improve the implementation of PESO programs and services at the barangay level.

The Silago Municipal PESO Office and the ABESOS extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗣. 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 for approving the conduct of the said meeting and for his continued support of employment related programs and initiatives in the municipality.

Sa pagdiriwang ng ika-32nd na Anibersaryo ng Pangasiwaan sa Edukasyong Teknikal at Pagpapaunlad ng Kasanayan at sa ika-siyam na National Tech-Voc Day, ang TESDA, katuwang ang iba't-ibang sangay ng gobyerno, stakeholders at partners ay magsasagawa ng 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐟é 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿) ngayong Agosto na gaganapin sa iba't-ibang bahagi ng Rehiyon.

Ang taunang kaganapang ito ay nagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa mga nagtapos ng TVET upang maikonekta sa mga pribadong sektor, mga ahensya, at mga employers na naghahanap ng mga skilled workers na katuwang sa paghahatid ng serbisyo. Dagdag pa rito, ang iba pang mga partners at employers ay naroon din upang magbigay ng hanay ng mga serbisyo sa mga lalahok sa nasabing aktibidad.

A total of 300 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Silago received their wages under the 𝙏𝙪𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙥𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙖 𝘼𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙙 / 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 (𝙏𝙐𝙋𝘼𝘿) program during the pay-out activity held on July 13, 2026, at the Tubod Barangay Auditorium.

In her message, Atty. Noya-Nidua reaffirmed the Department of Labor and Employment's commitment to providing immediate employment assistance to disadvantaged and displaced workers through TUPAD. She encouraged beneficiaries to make wise use of their earnings to help meet their families' daily needs.

Mayor Honor expressed his gratitude to DOLE for its continued support to the people of Silago through livelihood and emergency employment programs. He also assured the public of the local government's continued partnership with DOLE in implementing programs that uplift the lives of Silagonhons.

The successful conduct of the pay-out was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Local Government Unit of Silago through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), ensuring the timely release of wages to the beneficiaries.

The TUPAD program remains one of DOLE's flagship initiatives that provides short-term emergency employment while helping workers and their families cope with economic challenges.

𝙎𝙄𝙇𝘼𝙂𝙊, 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙣 𝙇𝙚𝙮𝙩𝙚 – 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 - The Department of Labor and Employment, through the DOLE Southern Leyte Field Office, formally turned over livelihood assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to three qualified beneficiary groups during a ceremonial turnover held on July 9, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at the Silago Municipal Evacuation Center.

The livelihood projects awarded included the Egg Layering Project for the Puntana Women's Nature Club Association, the Seaweed Production Project for the Hingatungan Agri-Fishers and Farmers Association, and Diversified Livelihood Projects for twenty-five (25) parents of child laborers, aimed at providing sustainable income opportunities and improving the economic well-being of their families.

The ceremony was graced by DOLE-SLFO DILP Focal Person 𝙈𝙨. 𝘿𝙖𝙝𝙡𝙞𝙖 𝘼. 𝙂𝙖𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙖, 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙚𝙢𝙪𝙚𝙡 𝙋. 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧, 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙎𝘽 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙤 𝘼. 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙚, Chairperson of the Committee on Labor, Local and Overseas Employment, and PESO Manager-Designate 𝙈𝙧. 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙚 𝙎𝙖𝙪𝙙𝙞 𝘾. 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙡, together with representatives from the beneficiary organizations and other stakeholders.

In her message, 𝘔𝘴. 𝘎𝘢𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 encouraged the beneficiaries to responsibly manage their livelihood projects and maximize the assistance provided to ensure long-term sustainability. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳 likewise emphasized the importance of unity, commitment, and hard work in making the projects successful and expressed the local government's continued support for programs that create employment and livelihood opportunities for Silago residents.

Hon. Antonio A. Mate reaffirmed the Sangguniang Bayan's commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift the lives of workers, farmers, fisherfolk, women, and vulnerable sectors, while Mr. Tomol assured the beneficiaries that the Municipal PESO will continue to provide monitoring and technical assistance to help ensure the success of the projects.

The turnover ceremony reflects the strong partnership between DOLE and the Local Government Unit of Silago in promoting inclusive, community-based, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through these livelihood interventions, the beneficiary groups are expected to strengthen their income-generating activities, improve their quality of life, and contribute to the economic development of their respective communities.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO),
headed by 𝙊𝙄𝘾-𝙋𝙀𝙎𝙊 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧 𝗠𝗿.𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗘 𝗦𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜 𝗖. 𝗧𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗟, successfully conducted a Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) Orientation for the fifteen (15) selected beneficiaries who are set to serve as Tara, Basa! Tutors and Youth Development Workers.

The orientation aimed to familiarize the beneficiaries with the objectives of the program, their duties and responsibilities, workplace policies, and other important guidelines related to their assignments. PESO also emphasized the importance of professionalism, dedication, and public service as the beneficiaries begin their employment under the SPES program.

Following the orientation, the beneficiaries paid a courtesy visit to 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗨𝗘𝗟 𝗣. 𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗥 as they officially kicked off their assignments. During the visit, the Mayor welcomed and encouraged the beneficiaries to perform their duties responsibly and to make the most of the opportunity given to them.

The SPES program continues to provide temporary employment opportunities to deserving students and out-of-school youth, helping them gain valuable work experience while contributing positively to the community.

The Municipal Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Local Government Unit of Silago proudly recognizes the successful completion of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) of 𝙈𝙨. 𝙈𝙮𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝘼. 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙯𝙖𝙙𝙖 and 𝙈𝙨. 𝙍𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤,, Information Technology students from Southern Leyte State University, Hinunangan Campus.

From February 16 to April 31, 2026, the trainees rendered their service at the Municipal PESO Office, where they demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and eagerness to learn. Throughout their training period, they assisted in various office activities and applied their knowledge and skills in Information Technology in support of the office’s daily operations.

The Municipal PESO Office expresses its appreciation to Ms. Cruzada and Ms. Manto for their hard work, cooperation, and positive attitude during their stay in the office. Their contribution and commitment have been greatly valued by the PESO personnel.

The OJT program serves as an important avenue for students to gain practical experience and enhance their competencies in preparation for their future careers. Through this experience, the trainees were able to develop not only their technical skills but also workplace values such as responsibility, teamwork, and professionalism.

As they conclude their last day of duty, the Municipal PESO Office extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the trainees as they continue their academic journey and pursue their future careers in the field of Information Technology.

The office hopes that the knowledge and experiences they gained during their internship will serve as a strong foundation for their future success.
