😌🍃 𝘓𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘭? Not here—because the energy was off the charts at this year’s 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐩𝐬: 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐰𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲! 🏆🔥

As part of Psychology Week, the four Balay went head-to-head in a series of exciting games and challenges that tested not only their teamwork but also their knowledge of psychology. From ice breaker competitions to themed activity stations, each challenge was rooted in Filipino social orientations making every task both fun and culturally meaningful. More than just a friendly competition, the Grand House Cup gave our psychology students the chance to immerse themselves in activities inspired by Sikolohiyang Pilipino. By engaging with these stations, they strengthened their appreciation of Filipino social culture and sparked curiosity about how psychology, often dominated by Western ideologies, takes on a unique and powerful form when grounded in our own heritage.

The Grand House Cup wasn’t just about scoring points, it was about celebrating identity, teamwork, and the vibrant spirit of being Filipino.

As part of our week-long celebration, we were honored to feature the seminar “𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐯𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐰: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭” delivered by Mr. Lucky Nine R. Perez, MA, MCE.

The talk offered a deep dive into the present-day social culture of Filipino society, contrasting traditional values with the evolving identities of today’s youth. Using the lens of Sikolohiyang Pilipino, Mr. Perez guided us in reflecting on how globalization, modern influences, and cultural shifts have reshaped the way young Filipinos see themselves, their relationships, and their place in society. This discussion also emphasized the importance of learning about Sikolohiyang Pilipino. Psychology as a discipline has long been dominated by Western ideologies, which often do not fully capture the nuances of Filipino values, traditions, and lived experiences. By grounding psychology in our own culture, we gain a clearer understanding of identity conflicts faced by the youth today and how these can be addressed in ways that resonate with the Filipino spirit.

Truly an inspiring and eye-opening session that reminded us of the need to embrace our heritage while navigating the complexities of modern identity.

On April 08, 2026, FEU Cavite Psychology Society successfully held its annual outreach event; PSYCARE, with the theme “Together in Kindness, Caring Across Generations” at San Jose Balay Alima Foundation Inc. Psychology students spent a heartwarming day with the elderly through singing, drawing, conversations, and shared reflections. Through these interactions, students developed patience, empathy, and a deeper understanding towards our elders.

Along with JCI Cattleya Silang, Psychology Society extended our support by donating essential goods to support the residents at Balay Alima.

We are deeply grateful to the students, faculty, and sponsors who made this meaningful outreach possible. Together in kindness, caring across generations, we continue to build bridges of empathy and compassion.

Sa huling araw ng PsychWeek, kilalanin natin si 𝗥𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗲-𝗣𝘂𝗮. Kilala siya sa kanyang ambag sa Indigenous Psychology at sa pananaliksik tungkol sa karanasan ng mga Pilipino sa diaspora o mga naninirahan sa ibang bansa.

Pinalawak niya ang saklaw ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino sa pandaigdigang konteksto, at binigyang-pansin ang kahalagahan ng kultura, identidad, at adaptasyon ng mga Pilipino sa iba’t ibang lipunan. Dahil dito, mas naging global ang pag-unawa sa pagiging Pilipino.

Ngayong araw, kilalanin natin si 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗖. 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗼 — isang Heswitang pari at sikolohista na kilala sa kanyang konsepto ng “split-level Christianity.” Sa kanyang pag-aaral, ipinaliwanag niya kung paano maaaring magkaiba ang panlabas na pagpapakita ng pananampalataya at ang panloob na paniniwala ng isang Pilipino.

Ipinakita rin niya kung paano naaapektuhan ng kultura at relihiyon ang pag-uugali at pagpapasya ng tao. Sa kanyang mga ambag, mas naunawaan ang lalim at komplikasyon ng Filipino values at identity.

Kilalanin natin si 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘇 — ang tinaguriang “Ama ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino.” Siya ang nanguna sa pagtatag ng isang sikolohiyang tunay na nakaugat sa karanasan, kultura, at pananaw ng mga Pilipino. Ipinaglaban niya ang paggamit ng sariling wika at konsepto sa pananaliksik at pagtuturo upang mas maging makabuluhan ang pag-unawa sa pagkatao ng Pilipino.

Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga ideya, hinamon niya ang dominasyon ng Kanluraning perspektibo at binigyang-halaga ang lokal na kaalaman at karanasan. Dahil dito, mas naging inklusibo at makabayan ang pag-aaral ng sikolohiya sa bansa.

Isa sa mga hindi dapat makalimutan ay si 𝗔𝗹𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗺𝗮𝘆 — isang kilalang sikolohista at dating pangulo ng University of the Philippines. Malaki ang naging ambag ni Lagmay sa pagpapaunlad ng sikolohiya sa bansa, lalo na sa pagsusulong ng mas makabayang pananaw sa pag-aaral ng isip at pag-uugali ng Pilipino.

Itinaguyod niya ang paggamit ng lokal na konteksto at kultura sa sikolohiya, na naging mahalagang pundasyon ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino. Sa halip na umasa lamang sa mga Kanluraning teorya, binigyang-diin ni Lagmay ang kahalagahan ng sariling karanasan, wika, at pagkakakilanlan ng mga Pilipino sa pag-unawa sa kanilang sarili.

Sa kanyang mga kontribusyon, mas naging makabuluhan at makatao ang sikolohiya para sa ating bansa.
