The Philippine National Police Provincial held its Command Conference accompanied by presentations of Chiefs of Police with significant accomplishments in their respective area of responsibility. The conference gathered Chiefs of Police from different areas in the province, all focused on the shared goal of making our communities safer and building trust in our police force.

The conference gave each Chief of Police opportunities to provide outlines of their station from jurisdiction to achievements such as intervention to rising crime rates and local issues. Gaining realizations of the progress we make as a working police force. Sharing our successes and recognizing where we can do better is important for being open and honest. It also helps create an environment where police leaders can learn from each other. This practice encourages responsibility and helps us develop shared plans that fit the specific needs of our communities.

After the conference, the closing ceremony of the Phase 3: Cadet Attachment Program -- Case-Based Scenario was conducted as headed by PCOL MARIA SHEILA T PORTENTO, the Acting Dean of Academics.

The Lakan Component City Police Station has recently conducted a crucial response operation to an incident involving an improvised explosive device (IED). This operation highlights our commitment to public safety and our readiness to handle emergencies

The response to the IED incident provided our police officers with important lessons. We learned how critical it is to act quickly and efficiently in emergencies. Our team practiced effective communication and coordination, ensuring everyone knew their roles during the operation. Additionally, we gained valuable experience in assessing risks, which will help us in future responses to similar incidents.

While responding to the IED incident, our officers faced several challenges. One of the most significant difficulties was ensuring the safety of the public during the operation. We had to secure the area quickly to prevent anyone from getting injured. Additionally, dealing with the uncertainty of the situation required our team to remain calm and focused under pressure.

The Lakan Component City Police Station has carried out a significant raid as part of our ongoing effort to maintain law and order in our community. This operation aimed to tackle illegal activities and ensure the safety of our residents.

The raid provided important lessons for our police team. We learned the value of thorough planning and preparation, which are essential for the success of such operations. Effective communication among officers was crucial, ensuring everyone knew their roles and responsibilities. Additionally, we gained insight into the importance of gathering community support and information.

However, conducting the raid was not easy. One of the main challenges was ensuring the safety of both our officers and the community during the operation. We had to operate quickly and quietly to prevent any suspects from escaping or becoming aware of our plans. This required careful timing and coordination. Moreover, dealing with unexpected situations during the raid added to the complexity, but our team handled it diligently.

The Lakan Component City Police Station recently conducted a series of buy-bust operations aimed at combating illegal drug activities in our community headed by our Chief of Police PLTCOL MILLETE. These operations are a critical part of our strategy to ensure public safety and promote a drug-free environment.

Conducting buy-bust operations is vital for several reasons. First, it helps to reduce the availability of illegal drugs in our community, making it safer for everyone. Second, these operations serve as a strong warning to drug dealers that law enforcement is actively working to address drug issues. Lastly, they promote awareness among residents about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of community involvement in crime prevention.

During these buy-bust operations, undercover officers made controlled purchases of illegal drugs from suspected dealers. This approach is important because it allows law enforcement to gather evidence and take swift action against those involved in drug trade.

One of the main difficulties was the need to operate discreetly to avoid alerting suspects. This required careful coordination and patience from all officers involved. Furthermore, managing safety during the operations was critical, as officers needed to be prepared for any unexpected situations. Another challenge we faced during the operation was the realization of expectation versus reality especially in the conduct of proper procedures.

The Buy-Bust Operation enabled us to learn the importance of teamwork and detailed planning to ensure everyone’s safety during the process. Good communication among all team members was crucial to the success of the operations. Additionally, the feedback from local residents has been helpful, allowing us to understand community concerns and adjust our methods accordingly.

The Lakan Component City Police Station conducted its turn-over of command and office ceremony. The event served as a new beginning of leadership and service to the public. The activity was headed by PLTCOL APOLINARIO L PALOMENO, the Deputy Provincial Director for Administration. The transition of leadership from outgoing Chief of Police PLTCOL MOJICA to incoming Chief of Police PLTCOL MILLETE symbolizes not just a change in administration but a renewed commitment to upholding the core values of service, integrity, and professionalism within the police force.

PLTCOL PALOMENO gave importance to the dedication of work and public service as well as emphasizing the welfare of the community as public servants. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the interest of the general public over personal matters.
It is not just a formal change in leadership; it is also a chance to strengthen our promise to be accountable and responsive to the community's needs. As we deal with the challenges of today's law enforcement, this change reminds us that our main focus is on the people we serve.

The event ended with a promise to maintain transparency and work together, as both leadership teams agreed to keep communication open. In line with election security measures and the nationwide gun ban, PLTCOL MILLETE, Chief of Police of the Lakan Component City Police Station, oversaw a COMELEC checkpoint on streets covered by its vicinity at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.

This checkpoint was set up to enforce regulations from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) that prohibit carrying guns and other banned items during the election period. PLTCOL MILLETE and his team made sure that all inspections were done professionally and followed the proper procedures.

The operation at the checkpoint went smoothly, with no reports of any resistance or issues. Authorities emphasize the importance of enforcing election laws to ensure safety during this critical time and encourage the public to report any suspicious behavior that might threaten security.

The visit aimed to strengthen the cadets' understanding of inter-agency collaboration, maritime safety, and coastal defense, highlighting the crucial role of the PCG in protecting the country’s territorial waters.

During the visit, cadets were given a comprehensive briefing on the mission, organizational structure, and specialized units of the PCG. They learned about the agency’s key responsibilities, including maritime law enforcement, search and rescue operations, disaster response, and environmental protection.
