PDEA RO-NIR SIQUIJOR PROMOTES DRUG PREVENTION AWARENESS AMONG PUPILS THROUGH DAPE LECTURE IN MARIA

On July 31, 2026, at around 1:00 P.M., PDEA RO–NIR Siquijor Provincial Office conducted a Drug Abuse Prevention Education (DAPE) lecture for pupils of Minalulan Elementary School, Brgy. Minalulan, Maria, Siquijor.

The DAPE session provided learners with important information on the National Drug Situation, Concepts of Drug Abuse, Commonly Abused Drugs in the Philippines, and the Salient Provisions of Republic Act No. 9165.

The discussion also featured Operation Private Eye, the "Isumbong Mo sa PDEA" online reporting platform, the PDEA Virtual Gallery Museum, the Regional Public Assistance Desk, and SAFE NIR 911, highlighting the importance of active community participation in preventing illegal drug activities.

A total of 50 pupils participated in the activity.

PDEA RO-NIR SIQUIJOR CONTINUES YOUTH-FOCUSED ANTI-DRUG ADVOCACY THROUGH DAPE LECTURES IN SAN JUAN AND MARIA

The PDEA RO–NIR Siquijor Provincial Office continued its commitment to strengthening drug prevention awareness among the youth through a series of Drug Abuse Prevention Education (DAPE) lectures conducted on July 30, 2026 in three schools across the municipalities of San Juan and Maria, Siquijor.

The information drive reached the following schools:
📍 8:30 A.M. – Can Asagan Elementary School, Brgy. Can Asagan, San Juan
📍 1:00 P.M. – Logucan Integrated School, Brgy. Logucan, Maria
📍 3:00 P.M. – Cansayang Elementary School, Brgy. Cansayang, San Juan

The DAPE sessions provided students and pupils with essential knowledge on the National Drug Situation, Concepts of Drug Abuse, Commonly Abused Drugs in the Philippines, and the Salient Provisions of Republic Act No. 9165. Discussions also highlighted Operation Private Eye, the "Isumbong Mo sa PDEA" online reporting platform, the PDEA Virtual Gallery Museum, the Regional Public Assistance Desk, and SAFE NIR 911, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in preventing illegal drug activities.

A total of 110 students and pupils participated in the three activities.

PDEA RO-NIR NOCPO STRENGTHENS MULTI-SECTORAL COLLABORATION TOWARD A DRUG-FREE SAN CARLOS CITY

On July 30, 2026, the PDEA Regional Office-Negros Island Region Negros Occidental Provincial Office led by IA I Gelly Robins G. Cataluña, Provincial Officer, conducted a series of engagements with the Local Government Unit of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental to strengthen collaborative efforts in sustaining a drug-free community.

At 9:30 A.M., IA I Cataluña paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Renato Y. Gustilo, City Mayor of San Carlos, at the Mayor’s Office, San Carlos City Hall. The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships among government agencies, intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs, the proposed conduct of Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) re-orientation and drug awareness lectures, the establishment of a Balay Silangan Reformation Facility, and other anti-drug initiatives.

Also present during the meeting were Ms. Ana Liza Macaraya, San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) Focal Person, and Mr. Estefanio S. Libutan Jr., City Administrator. Mayor Gustilo expressed the LGU’s full commitment and support in advancing anti-illegal drug efforts and promoting a safer, drug-free San Carlos City.

Following the courtesy visit, PDEA RO-NIR NOCPO formally turned over the Certificates and Resolutions for Barangay 3’s Drug-Cleared Status, as well as the resolutions confirming the retention of ten (10) barangays as drug-cleared, issued by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) dated March 25, 2026.

At 11:00 A.M., PDEA RO-NIR NOCPO personnel conducted an ocular inspection of the proposed Balay Silangan Reformation Facility of the San Carlos City LGU located in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City. The inspection, accompanied by Ms. Macaraya and staff, aimed to assess the facility’s compliance with the minimum requirements and standards necessary for the implementation of the Balay Silangan Program and its suitability to accommodate qualified drug offenders.

At 2:00 P.M., PDEA RO-NIR NOCPO, together with Ms. Macaraya, conducted a coordination meeting with Barangay Buluangan officials regarding the barangay’s application for Drug-Cleared Status under the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP). Discussions focused on strengthening BDCP initiatives, sustaining anti-illegal drug programs, enhancing preventive education, and improving collaboration with partner agencies.

Present during the meeting were Hon. Disiderio A. Enarciso, Barangay Chairman; Ms. Ana Liza Macaraya, SCCADAC Focal Person; and the Barangay Kagawad on Peace and Order.

Through these collaborative efforts, PDEA RO-NIR Negros Occidental continues to strengthen partnerships with local government units and barangay stakeholders in advancing effective anti-illegal drug programs and building safer, drug-free, and resilient communities.

PDEA RO-NIR LEADS REGIONAL EFFORTS TOWARD SUSTAINABLE BARANGAY DRUG CLEARING PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION

The Regional Barangay Drug Clearing Program Team (RBDCPT) of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PDEA RO-NIR) successfully conducted the 12th Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) Meeting/Deliberation via Google Meet on July 29, 2026.

The meeting was presided over by DIR II MARJORIE V. BALLESTEROS, Assistant Regional Director of PDEA RO-NIR, and attended by representatives from key partner agencies, including Ms. Jasten Aires Ledesma of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Nurse II Syrus Valiao of the Department of Health (DOH), and PMAJ Rey Molas, Chief of the Community Affairs Section.

The committee discussed key agenda items, including updates on the implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) across the region, the proposed schedule for the BDCP Re-Orientation in the Province of Negros Oriental, the schedule for the 13th ROCBDC Meeting/Deliberation, and other matters relevant to strengthening the program.

The deliberations focused on sustaining the gains of the BDCP, enhancing program implementation, and ensuring continued compliance with established policies and guidelines. The committee also agreed to hold the 13th Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Meeting/Deliberation on August 26, 2026.

PDEA RO-NIR NEGROS OCCIDENTAL REINFORCES DRUG-CLEARED COMMUNITY INITIATIVES THROUGH BDCP, BALAY SILANGAN, AND DFWP ACTIVITIES IN CANDONI

On July 29, 2026, the PDEA RO–NIR Negros Occidental Provincial Office conducted a series of activities in the Municipality of Candoni, Negros Occidental to reinforce the implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP), promote the Balay Silangan Reformation Program, and strengthen the Drug-Free Workplace Program (DFWP).

At 11:00 A.M., IA I Gelly Robins G. Cataluña, Provincial Officer, led a coordination meeting with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Candoni to discuss strategies for sustaining the gains of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) across the municipality's nine (9) drug-cleared barangays. The meeting also focused on the proposed Balay Silangan Reformation Program, a community-based intervention designed to provide rehabilitation and reformation opportunities for inactive street-level drug personalities and plea bargainers, further supporting the municipality's goal of achieving and maintaining a Drug-Cleared Municipality status.

Present during the meeting were Mr. Lancer Philip S. Bauno, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO); Mr. Benjie M. Orat, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary; Ms. Ritchiel Diopido, representing the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO); and the Executive Assistant representing the Office of Mayor Ray Ruiz.

At 2:00 P.M., PDEA conducted a Re-orientation on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) for representatives of the municipality's nine barangays at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall. Discussions covered the validation process for drug-cleared barangays, the roles and responsibilities of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), documentary requirements, drug awareness, and the implementation of the Balay Silangan Reformation Program.

Following the re-orientation, the PDEA team conducted an ocular inspection of the LGU's proposed Balay Silangan facility in Barangay East, Candoni to assess its compliance with the minimum standards and requirements for a community-based reformation center.
Simultaneously, IO II Romeby Joy Sailog, Chief of PECI, conducted a Drug-Free Workplace Program (DFWP) lecture for BADAC officials.

The session covered the national drug situation, concepts of drug abuse, commonly abused drugs in the Philippines, the salient provisions of Republic Act No. 9165, and the Drug-Free Workplace Program. Participants were also introduced to Operation Private Eye, the "Isumbong Mo sa PDEA" online reporting platform, the PDEA Virtual Gallery Museum, and the Regional Public Assistance Desk, emphasizing the importance of community participation in the fight against illegal drugs.

The DFWP lecture was attended by 20 participants, composed of 13 males and 7 females, with no senior citizens or persons with disabilities (PWDs) present.

These activities underscore PDEA Negros Occidental's commitment to strengthening partnerships with local government units, empowering barangay officials, and sustaining effective anti-illegal drug programs that contribute to safer, healthier, and drug-free communities.

DRUG-FREE JAILS: PDEA RO-NIR, BJMP Strengthen Campaign Through Intensified Search, Seizure, and Drug Testing Operations

In line with the government’s intensified campaign to maintain drug-free detention facilities, personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PDEA RO-NIR) Seaport/Airport Interdiction Unit–Negros Occidental, under the direct supervision of IO II Ricky A. Pacaonces, conducted a series of joint search and seizure operations and witnessed random drug testing activities in coordination with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

On July 28, 2026, the team conducted a joint operation at San Carlos City District Jail, where selected BJMP personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) underwent random drug testing. The operation yielded no illegal drugs, while all drug test results were negative, reinforcing the implementation of the Laban Kontra Droga and Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Program.

On July 29, 2026, a similar operation was carried out at Talisay City Jail, covering both the Male and Female Dormitories. The team also witnessed the random drug testing of 30 BJMP personnel and 75 PDLs, with all test results returning negative. No contraband or illegal drugs were discovered during the inspection.

Meanwhile, on July 31, 2026, PDEA RO-NIR SIU/AIU–Negros Occidental and BJMP personnel conducted a joint search and seizure operation at the Negros Occidental District Jail in Bago City. The thorough inspection resulted in no recovery of illegal drugs or other prohibited items, affirming the facility’s compliance with jail security measures.

These successful operations highlight the unwavering commitment of PDEA RO-NIR and BJMP to uphold safe, secure, and drug-free jail facilities through strengthened inter-agency cooperation, regular inspections, and sustained anti-illegal drug initiatives.

DRUG-FREE JAILS, STRONGER COMMUNITIES: PDEA NORPO Intensifies Jail Security Operations Across Negros Oriental

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to keeping detention facilities free from illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Negros Oriental Provincial Office (PDEA NORPO), in close coordination with the Seaport Interdiction Unit (SIU)-Negros Oriental and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), successfully conducted a series of Search and Seizure Operations in key jail facilities across the province.

On July 27, 2026, joint teams conducted operations at the Dumaguete City District Jail – Male Dormitory and Female Dormitory, where no illegal drugs or drug-related paraphernalia were recovered. The teams also witnessed the conduct of random drug testing involving 142 individuals, consisting of 76 BJMP personnel and 66 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). All participants tested negative for illegal drug use.

On July 31, 2026, another successful operation was carried out at Bais City Jail, led by PDEA NORPO and SIU-Negros Oriental in coordination with BJMP personnel. The operation likewise resulted in no illegal drugs being found within the facility.

Earlier, on July 28, 2026, a similar Search and Seizure Operation was conducted at Bayawan District Jail, where authorities also reported negative results, affirming the facility’s drug-free status.

These sustained operations highlight the strong partnership between PDEA and BJMP in maintaining secure, disciplined, and drug-free correctional facilities while reinforcing the government’s commitment to preventing the entry and proliferation of illegal drugs inside detention centers.

PDEA RO-NIR NEGROS OCCIDENTAL STRENGTHENS BARANGAY DRUG CLEARING AND DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE INITIATIVES IN ILOG

On July 28, 2026, at 9:00 A.M., PDEA RO NIR-Negros Occidental Provincial Office conducted a Re-orientation on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and a Drug-Free Workplace Program (DFWP) Lecture for barangay officials of the Municipality of Ilog, Negros Occidental at Zelsan Restaurant.

The BDCP re-orientation was attended by representatives from 15 barangays and focused on the procedures for declaring drug-affected barangays, the validation process for drug-cleared status, the roles and functions of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), documentary requirements, and the implementation of the Drug-Free Workplace Policy. The activity aimed to strengthen the capability of BADAC members in effectively implementing the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, and sustaining the drug-cleared status of their respective barangays.

The DFWP lecture equipped barangay officials with essential knowledge on the national drug situation, concepts of drug abuse, commonly abused drugs in the Philippines, and the importance of maintaining a Drug-Free Workplace. Discussions also featured Operation Private Eye, the "Isumbong Mo sa PDEA" online reporting platform, the PDEA Virtual Gallery Museum, and the Regional Public Assistance Desk, emphasizing the vital role of community participation in the government's anti-illegal drug campaign.
Present during the activity were Mr. Gideon P. Padilla, Executive Assistant to the Mayor; LGOO VI Ma. Liz Snook of the DILG; PMAJ Randy P.
