Weekly Recap | February 23–27, 2026

Here’s a look back at some of the key activities undertaken during the week of February 23–27, 2026, as the office continued its efforts to support barangays and strengthen local governance.

The week included coordination with the Liga ng mga Barangay in Brgy. Cabadiangan, the provision of technical assistance to former barangay officials regarding eligibility requirements, and the monitoring of Gender and Development Plan and Budget (GPB) submissions in preparation for the Women’s Month celebration.

The office also complied with the property inventory conducted by the Regional Office, which involved the verification of equipment issued by the Department to ensure proper documentation, accountability, and management of government assets.

A validation was likewise carried out in coordination with the City Assessor’s Office and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office to verify site conditions and relevant records concerning a lot in Barangay Nauhang.

In addition, the office interfaced with DILG NIR Regional Director Lailyn Ortiz, CESO IV and Regional Legal Officer Atty. Neil Yanson at the DILG NIR Regional Office in Bacolod City to strengthen coordination on governance and legal matters.

Through these engagements, we continue to provide responsive support to our barangays and promote transparency, accountability, and good local governance.

WEEKLY RECAP | February 9–13, 2026

Last week was marked by decisive action and strengthened partnerships for better local governance.

From safeguarding the legal processes and oathtaking of the newly elected SK Chairperson of Barangay I, to welcoming the Barangay Secretaries of Hinoba-an for meaningful engagement at the DILG Sipalay City Field Office.

We also intensified efforts to uphold integrity and public trust by ensuring Civil Society Organization members of the City Peace and Order Council undergo proper background investigation in coordination with the Philippine National Police.

At the same time, strategic consultations with Mayor Maria Gina M. Lizares and concerned officials were undertaken to ensure that local policies remain responsive, inclusive, and attuned to the needs of our communities.
