The Global Teacher Prize is a US$1 million international annual award given by the Varkey Foundation to outstanding teachers who have made significant contributions in their field.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 | NCIP RULES OF PROCEDURE

The 2024 National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Rules of Procedure took effect on January 14, 2025, fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette on December 30, 2024. The Rules were approved by the NCIP Commission En Banc on August 13, 2024.

The 2024 NCIP Rules of Procedure is the latest guidelines governing the processes for the NCIP’s exercise of its quasi-judicial powers in resolving cases involving the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples. Key features include provisions on electronic filing and service of pleadings, the conduct of virtual hearings, and the use of private courier services. Additionally, the Rules emphasize and promote alternative or indigenous dispute resolution mechanisms for conflict settlement, among others.

𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡 | Merit Selection Plan ng NCIP, Inaprubahan na ng Civil Service Commission

Matapos ang ilang taong deliberasyon, inaprubahan na ng Civil Service Commission (CSC) ang Merit Selection Plan (MSP) ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP). Ang plano ay naglalayong magpatupad ng isang malinaw, patas, at sistematikong proseso para sa pagsusuri at pagpili ng mga empleyado batay sa kanilang kwalipikasyon, kakayahan, at karanasan. Nilalayon din nito na tiyakin ang transparency at accountability sa recruitment, promotion, at appointment ng mga posisyon, habang isinasaalang-alang ang misyon ng NCIP na itaguyod ang kapakanan ng mga katutubong pamayanan.

Sa ilalim ng MSP, binibigyan-diin ang patas na kompetisyon kung saan ang mga kandidato ay susuriin nang pantay batay sa kanilang merito. Ang pag-apruba sa planong ito ay isang mahalagang hakbang tungo sa pagpapalakas ng propesyunalismo sa NCIP, na magpapabuti sa operasyon ng ahensya at magpapataas ng tiwala ng publiko. Sa ganitong paraan, ang MSP ay hindi lamang magtataguyod ng epektibong pamamahala kundi magsisilbing instrumento sa pagpapabuti ng kalidad ng serbisyo para sa mga katutubo.
